Martyrdom Day Celebrated in Dwarka

To commemorate the great martyrdom (Shaheedi) of Sahib Sri Guru Arjan Dev ji Maharaj, the residents of Sector-8, Dwarka had arranged a Chhabeel adjoining to Queen’s Valley School on Main Road of Sector -8, Dwarka on Wednesday, the 8th June, 2016. In which cold sweet milk water and langar was distributed throughout the day. Large number of Dwarka residents including representatives  of various social and religious associations participated to pay their obeisance to the Guru Sahib said Sardar Arvinder Singh Chhatwal, Secretary, Residents Welfare Association, Sector-8, Dwarka and Vice President of Dwarka Forum.

On this very day, Guru Arjan Dev ji, sacrificed his life to uphold the fundamental right to equality, justice, freedom and religion, said Sardar A. S. Chhatwal.

Guru Arjan Dev ji achieved martyrdom in Lahore in 1606, under the rule of Mughal emperor Jahangir. The holy Gurdwara Dera Sahib ji stands at the place, where Guru ji was martyred said Sardar Kuldip Singh ji. Guruji constructed the Harmandir Sahib (Golden Temple) , Amritsar and compiled the Adi Granth, Sahib Sri Guru Granth Sahib ji said Sardar H S. Walia. Guru Arjan Dev ji taught us the meaning and motive of life, said Sardar Paramjit Singh Bakshi.
