TIHS HOSTS SANKALP SAHODAYA MODEL UNITED NATIONS-2017

The Indian Heights School, Sector 23, Dwarka hosted 2nd conference of Sankalp Sahodaya Model United Nations – 2017 on January 20, 2017. The event witnessed a whole hearted participation by 20 schools from Dwarka and Gurgaon. MUN as an educational simulation encourages students to learn about diplomacy, international relations, and United Nations. The event garnered the participation of UN High Commissioner for Refugees. Agenda: Promoting Livelihood and Education for Refugees and Displaced persons.

The Chief Guest of the Day Ms. Saba Zaidi, an eminent personality who has immense experience of proceedings of United Nations and is well connected with many foreign embassies, appreciated the efforts of the delegates and emphasized on the role of the youth in resolving global issues. The school principal, Ms. Archana Narain, in her address congratulated the delegates as they represented the concerned nations and their respective schools. She emphasized that the essential skills which children gain through the MUN helps them to convert the challenge into an opportunity thereby deciding their own future and in a way of the humanity as a whole. The day was the centre stage of thoughtful deliberations and effective solutions as the overwhelming delegates engaged in constructive debates to chalk out ways and means to resolve the pressing issues to establish peace and harmony among nations of the world.
