NKBPS Dwarka Celebrated its Annual Day with Glitz

N.K .BagrodiaPublic school hosted its 16th Annual day “Sopanam-Rising towards Enlightenment”A Quintessential Musical Odyssey emphasising the vitality of following a path of divine and aesthetic enrichment , on 25th November 2017 with a lot of enthusiasm and zeal. The Annual Day proved a perfectplatform for children to instill positive values, recognize their abilities and talents, through an array ofscintillating programmes.It was an occasion of celebration, felicitation and festivity when students presented not only their wonderful performances but also received honours for their curricular and co-curricular achievements.
The event waspresidedover by the Chief Guest ShriDependraPathak, IPS, Special Commissioner of Police (Traffic)-Delhi. The Guest of honour on the occasion was Dr. Mohan Nair, an Eminent Cardiologist, the Special Invitee on the day was Dr.Ved Ram Verma, Deputy Director of Education, Zone -21 SW(B), , the Chairperson of the school , Shrimati Pushpa Devi Bagrodiaji and all the distinguished members of NKBPS School Education Society, Shri. K.K Dhanuka, the founder trustee, Shri Dinesh Kumar Gupta, the trustee, Dr. S.K.Bhattacharya, the director, Mr.MahinderAggarwal, the trustee , Mr.Raghav Bagrodia, Mr.Prashant Parashar, the Principal NKBPS, Rohini and Mrs.JayshreeNavani, the Vice Principal NK Bagrodia Global School, Dwarka added grace and élan of the event .

The programme commenced with a short prayer sungby the choir group of the school followed by the auspicious lighting of the ceremonial lamp by all the esteemed guests invoking blessings from Almighty on the occasion. This was followed by an extended ceremony of welcoming and felicitating the illustrious and erudite Chief Guest, Guest of Honour and Special Invitee with mementoes and shawls. The School Principal Dr. (Mrs.)Rajee N Kumar accorded her felicitations to the revered Chairperson and all the members of School Education Society.


The alfresco of the school turned aesthetic with the divine welcome dance. As the daylight lingered on into the fragrance of twilight, the three deities Saraswati,Laxmi and MaaDurga, were invoked by the young dancers through ‘Welcome Dance- Devyastvah’. This was later followed by the welcome address by the Director of School, Shri S.K.Bhattacharya.

The next mesmerizing performance of the evening waspraising glorious sagaof‘India- the mother land’ through a melodious song by the students and rhapsody by the school orchestra.Patriotism towards the country was portrayed through the song in four languages- Sanskrit , Hindi , French and Englishwhich moved the heart of the audience..The most riveting performance which drew an unceasing applause ‘India- A land where history echoesitself with all its wonders ’.
The School Principal Dr. (Mrs.) Rajee N Kumar in her Annual Report briefed the audience with the philosophy of the school, inculcation of life skills and value based education, global citizenship and plethora of activities conducted in the schooland also highlightedthe academic achievements of the school students.
The Meritorious achievers in scholastics and co-scholastics areas of the session 2016-17 were felicitated with trophies, cash prizes and certificates. Vivekananda House won overall trophy of the year, The Best House Trophy which was followed up by Valmiki House which bagged runners- up trophy. Later the Chief Guest Shri Dependra Pathak , in his speech motivated students to do better in their future. Guest of honour Dr. Mohan Nair and the Special Invitee Dr.Ved Ram Verma, in their addresses appreciated and congratulated the participants. They emphasised on the fact that Young students are the future of our country and the world at large. Education should aim at holistic development of the students.

The 15th edition of the school magazine –Oasis, a beautiful and vivacious depiction of students’ and teachers’ creativity was released by the Chairperson and the special guests of the evening.

The event reached to its crux with the most awaited and dazzling segment of the glittering evening -a musical ballet where the talented buddies exhibited their acumen on the theme -“Sopanam-Rising towards Enlightenment ”. This thematic show of talent, imagination and organization was the essence of the evening. Each group danced to the tune of songs with colourful props, depicting thepath of walking on thestairsand achieving enlightenment. The audience was enthralled by a pulsating, colourful and very well directed dance drama.

The event culminated with the vote of thanks by the Trustee of the school, Mr.Mahinder Aggarwal expressing his sincere and heartfelt gratitude to all eminent guests for their benign presence , praising students, parents, and management of the school to make the event a grand success. The extravaganza ended with the National Anthem.
