ACQUIRE FARM HOUSE LAND FOR THE USE OF DEVELOPMENT OF DELHI

Respected Sir,
I thank you for opposing the DDA’s new policy for the regularization of farm houses situated in South Delhi.
For long, DDA is trying to regularize three thousand farms House in South Delhi while on that land; about one lakh 20-thousand flats can be built.  Delhi is facing acute shortage of residential units and has not been able to give plots to over 25 thousands registrants of Rohini Residential Scheme even after 31 years.  Sources say that it has pleaded for the grant of more 18-month more for the allotment of plots to them.  In the past also, DDA has not honoured deadlines set by it.  Sources say that these farm houses are occupying about 5,000 acres of land.
Regularization of these farm houses will also be against the Delhi Master Plan 2021 which was prepared after lot of survey and deliberations. According to it, Farm Houses can be allowed only in green area of outer Delhi.  In the past, Rohini and Dwarka have been able to solve the shortage of land to a great extent but now, with the increase of population, there is again acute shortage of land for inhibiting the residents.  There is sky-rocketing hike in the rates of plots and flats and large population is living in slums and sleeping on road-side under the open sky. In the past, Rohini and Dwarka have come up after the demolition of farm houses in these areas.  The Govt. for the people, of the people and by the people is now becoming by the few, for the few and of the few (influential).
          The DDA has fought the case in the Supreme Court for acquiring the land occupied by these Farm Houses for 30 years and after the long fight, SC allowed the DDA to acquire the farm house land for the development of Delhi.  If the DDA was not interested in acquiring this land and solve the major problem of shortage of land, why he has contested this case?   It seems that larger public interest is being ignored for the benefit of few or in the interest of about 3000-farm houses.
          The question is why the DDA is bent upon to regularize these farm houses and bringing this issue before the DDA’s meeting repeatedly while the public representatives are opposing such a policy.
