Janasamskriti, organizes ‘Sargotsavam’ a cultural festival of competitions in various arts forms, from classical music to light music/ film songs, from classical dance to folk dance, poem recitation, elocution, story /essay/poetry writing, quiz, etc. for children in the age group that encompasses Class I to Class XII and also for age group between 18 and 25, dividing them into four groups, on the pattern of school Youth Festivals. The Sargotsavam competitions are in two stages; branch level and the Central. Winners from different branches are eligible to participate in the Central level Competitions.
During this year, nearly 5000 children participated at various competitions organized by the association at various branch levels Janasamkriti (in all there are 23 branches in Delhi NCR). The winners are sent for all Central Delhi Final Competition. In this final event, 2000 children participated under various competitions. This was held over Four days at three different venues. On 26th October 2014 all literary events took place at R.K.Puram Kerala School, Delhi including Poem Writing (English and Malayalam), Essay Writing (English and Malayalam), Story Writing (English and Malayalam) and Quiz for all the children categories of SJ/J/S/Y.
Similarly on 2nd November 2014 various art events took place at Lodhi Garden, New Delhi. This included Pencil drawing, Cartoon drawing, Painting competitions. This was followed by the stage events held on 8-9 November 2014 at Rockwood School, Sector 33, NOIDA. This included classical dances –Bharathanatyam, Mohini Attam, Kathakali, Folk Dance, Classical Music, light music, folk music, Mono act, Kavitha parayanam, Elocution (English and Malayalam), etc. All the results were announced yesterday.
