Shahbaaz Khan<\/b> (Tuntun Singh of Afsar Bitiya) : Eid is an Arabic word meaning “festivity”, while Fi\u1e6dr means “to purify”; and so the holiday symbolizes the purification after completing the fasting month. This is the most special festival in our calendar and every year has been special in some way or the other.
\nAfter the morning prayers the entire day is spent enjoying with family and friends. It has been a tradition in our family to do a lot of charity throughout the Holy month of Ramzaan. <\/td>\n<\/tr>\n

\nEid has always been memorable as after fasting for a month we break our fast and celebrate. This festival has always been special as it marks the end of Ramadan, the Islamic holy month of fasting.
\nTypically, we wake up relatively early in the morning\u2014always before sunrise\u2014 offer Salatul Fajr, clean one’s teeth with a Miswaak or a
\nbrush, take a shower (Gosul) after Fajr, put on new clothes and apply ittar before attending the special Eid prayer (salah).
