\nNBT\u2019 s Book Exhibition at Urs Mahal, Nizamuddin Concludes National Center for Children\u2019s Literature, a wing of National Book Trust, India organized a workshop for children on the concluding day of the book exhibition at Urs Mahal in Nizamuddin. The workshop was conducted by Ms Banani Sarkar, noted Bhatnatyam dancer. The workshop helped children learn the art of presenting a story through dance and drama.<\/p>\n
\n<\/a><\/div>\n

During the workshop, the children enacted scenes from the Rabindra Nath Tagore\u2019s dramatic masterpiece The Post Office, originally written in Bangla. Through various characters, the play illustrates different forms of philosophies and lifestyles and depicts how the beliefs of a child keep on changing.<\/p>\n

\nOver 200 children drawn from various schools including MCD primary schools, MCD Pratibha Vidyalaya, Delhi Public School, Vasundhara, Ghaziabad, The Shri Ram School, Gurgaon and those associated with NGOs such as Agha Khan Foundation, Sakshi participated in the workshop.<\/div>\n

\nA large number of book lovers from all walks of life especially school and college students, from Nizamuddin and nearby areas thronged the book exhibition in large numbers during all three days of the book fair. NBT also offered 25% discount on its publications in the fair.\n<\/div>\n

\nThe school children had a feast of stories on Wednesday, the second day of the exhibition, as two young storytellers went on a storytelling spree. The storytelling session was conducted by Ms Charu Sethi and Ms Pawan Guleria. Children too grabbed the opportunity and stunned the audience with their enchanting tales. Over 150 children participated in the event.<\/p>\n

As a part of community policing, the Delhi Police had joined hands with the National Book Trust, India to organize a three-day book exhibition at Urs Mahal in Nizamuddin to promote reading habit and to make books available to economically weaker and marginalized sections of the society. The book exhibition was inaugurated by Shri Neeraj Kumar, the new Commissioner of Police, Delhi on Tuesday in the presence of Shri Sandeep Dixit, MP, Shri M A Sikandar, Director, NBT and a number of senior police officers.<\/p>\n
