Adil Ahmed Khan has been recently touted as one of the best young midfielders — someone who has matured fast. This Goan prodigy started playing the sport at the age of 14 in his locality. Adil’s parents were quick to note his talent and didn\u2019t waste time in enrolling him with Vasco Sports Club.
\nLife moved fast for Adil. He started his professional career two years later \u2013 at the age of 16 — with SESA FA where he had his first brush with the first division league. He stayed in SESA for seven years, turned a professional and then moved to Sporting Clube de Goa.<\/p>\n

\nFor past four years he has been backbone for Sporting Clube making his mark in the I-League in the process. His efforts bore him fruit when the hard work earned him a call to the Indian National Team for the exhibition match against Bayern Munich.<\/p>\n

\u201cIt was a dream come true when I got the call. But this is just the start. I need to work harder to be a regular member,\u201d he maintains.<\/p>\n

\u201cThere\u2019s something in that Blue jersey,\u201d he confesses. \u201cIf I get a chance to play in the forthcoming AFC Challenge Cup, I will be trying to make the most of it. It\u2019s a very important tournament.\u201d<\/p>\n

\u201cIf I get a chance, I\u2019ll stick to the basics and follow the instructions. Needless to say, I\u2019ll give my hundred percent,\u201d he adds.<\/p>\n

\u201cMy younger brother looks upto me and so do the kids in my village. But I\u2019m not a star. I\u2019ve just started. I want to play.\u201d he goes on.<\/p>\n

The hardworking midfielder picks up Mahesh Gawli as his favourite Indian player \u201cMahesh-bhai has been so composed as a player. His dedication should be a lesson for all,\u201d Adil quips. \u201cOff the field, he has always been a strict disciplinarian.
