\ncollection of 14 short stories on Women. The stories are humorous, loving and
\ndark. Shoma A. Chatterji combines various universal aspects of women into these
\nbeautifully constructed stories that make you laugh, cry and, above all,
\nwonder. <\/div>\n

\nShoma A. Chatterji<\/b>,
\nfilm critic, journalist and author, won the National Award (1991) for Best Film
\nCritic and the Best Film Critic Award from the Bengal Film Journalists\u2019
\nAssociation (1998.) Her book Parama and Other Outsiders \u2013 The Cinema of Aparna
\nSen, won the National Award for the Best Book on Cinema in 2003. She won a
\nresearch fellowship from the National Film Archive Pune in 2003-2004 and a
\nSenior Research Fellowship from PSBT (Public Service Broadcasting Trust) Delhi.
\nShe won the second prize in the Sahitya Akademi\u2019s Golden Short Story
\nTranslation Contest in 2007. She has done her Ph.D. in History. The title of
\nthe thesis is Men Directors \u2013 Women\u2019s Voice. She writes extensively on cinema
\nand gender issues. She also covers media, human rights, development, child rights
\nand contemporary issues in several print and electronic media publications
\nacross India. She has been on the panel of several Film Juries at International
\nFilm Festivals such as Mannheim-Heidelberg, St. Petersburg, Dona San Sebastian,
\netc. She has presented papers on television and cinema at Thessaloniki, Greece,
\nMannheim, Stuttgart and University of Heidelberg, Germany, School of Sound,
\nLondon, and Asian Film Centre, Colombo, Sri Lanka. Besides contributing to many
\nedited compilations on Indian cinema, she has singly authored 17 published
\nbooks on cinema, gender issues, short fiction and urban history. She currently
\ncontributes to The Statesman, The Tribune, Screen, Trans World Features, South
\nAsian Cinema and Free Press Journal. She has been writing for 30 years and is
