\nA three-day film
\nfestival on disability titled \u201cWe Care\u201d concluded at Apeejay Campus, Dwarka<\/b> on Thursday organized by the NGO,
\nBrotherhood. The festival ended with the message \u201cdignity and justice for all
\nof us\u201d in an attempt to sensitize the students and the society at large about
\nthe issue of disability.  The films showcased at the festival conveyed the
\nmessage \u2018physical disability is no longer
\na challenge and that the only disability is our attitude.\u2019 <\/p>\n

\nMany award winning national and
\ninternational films were showcased in the festival which brought out the real
\npurpose of the festival by highlighting the issues properly. For instance, Bilal
\n<\/i><\/b>relates to the interaction of 5 year old kid whose parents are blind.
\nSimilarly, Still Standing<\/i><\/b> speaks volumes about the
\nself-determination of a bed-ridden disabled person and how he motivates other
\ndisabled persons to overcome their inhibitions and face the challenges of life.
\nBasket Bronx<\/i><\/b> portrays the dreams of a kid, who has disability in
\none leg, and wants to play basketball as his idols.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n
\n\u201cWe
\nare screening films that have relevance and appeal to the students so that we
\nare able to bring in attitudinal change among them\u201d,<\/i> remarked Prof. Ashok Ogra, Director of the Apeejay Institute of Mass
\nCommunication.

\n\u201cThe
\nfestival is full of inspirational films such as Three of Us, Departure
\nLounge<\/b> and many others, and all giving the message that disability
\nneeds understanding and not pity or sympathy\u201d, <\/i>says Satish Kapoor of Brotherhood<\/b>. We want to reach out to as many
\npeople as possible through the medium of films, he further remarked. <\/div>\n

\nApart from the staffs and students of
\nApeejay School of Management and Apeejay Institute of Mass Communication, the
\nevent was witnessed by the students of several institutes from Delhi & National
\nCapital Region. Among the eminent attendees of the event were Ms. Deepa Malik,
\nFirst Sports Woman to represent the country at International level in
\nDisability Category; Ms. P.N. Vasanti, Director of Centre for Media Studies; Ms.
\nAbha Khaterpal, Principal, Counselor and Founder of an online organization
\n\u2018Cross The Hurdles\u2019; Ms. Simran Kohli, RJ Entrepreneur and writer at Radio City
\n91.1 FM; Mr. Vijay Kranti; Veteran Photo Journalist formally worked with India
\ntoday, Zee TV and Mr. Bhupendra Kainthola, Director of M&C, O.S.D of N.F.A,
\nDirectorate of Film Festivals, Ministry of Information & Broadcasting.<\/div>\n
