A Bamboo bridge built in Assam, a pond cleaned in a remote corner of Orissa and many such development works across the country; That\u2019s how the discarded material of cities is turning into a big resource under GOONJ\u2019s nationwide initiative<\/strong> \u2018Cloth for work\u2019<\/i><\/strong>. Genesis of a parallel economy,<\/i> as \u2018Management Experts\u2019 are calling it!!<\/p>\n

\nEvery small article that we collect from you- from cloth, utensils to footwear – is given as a reward, with a lot of self respect. The effort goes beyond the realm of charity and adds value to the entire process\u2026It\u2019s all about shifting focus from donor\u2019s pride to receiver\u2019s dignity!!<\/strong>
\nIn 21 states with over 250 partner groups, GOONJ is channelising 80 to 100 tones of material every month, yet\u2026.the demand is much more than the supply!<\/p>\n

Now it\u2019s your turn to get involved\u2026to make a difference..<\/strong>Do participate in \u2018Joy of Giving Week\u2019 and become a part of <\/strong>nationwide initiatives<\/strong> Vastra Samman<\/i><\/strong> & School to School<\/i><\/strong> from October<\/strong> 2nd to<\/strong> 8th.  <\/strong>Like last year, the idea is to spread across the country.<\/p>\n

Also join us for the ‘Rahat Floods’, relief efforts in parts of<\/strong> Assam, Bihar & West Bengal, which are going through some unnoticed, far away from media\u2019s eye- floods. Beside our regular dispatches, GOONJ is also working closely there in view of upcoming winters which are always a big disaster in these parts of the country. We are looking forward to large amounts of dry ration, woolens, tarpaulin, lanterns, blankets and utensils.

Time to gear up for Marathon also- as runner or as supporter<\/strong>!! GOONJ is participating in The Delhi Half Marathon (27th Nov\u2019 2011) and Mumbai Marathon (15th Jan \u20192012). This is the time hundreds of people run for a cause they believe in. Corporate teams, dream runners and individuals, there are many ways to run for GOONJ..
