Dryness of the nose is common in summer because of the use of air conditioners and also in winters due to the cold, dry weather, said Padma Shri and Dr B C Roy National Awardee&nbsp;<strong>Dr KK Aggarwal<\/strong>, President Heart Care Foundation of India and&nbsp;<strong>Dr. Aru Handa, Department Co\u2013coordinator and Senior Consultant Dept. of ENT, Moolchand Medcity.<\/strong><\/div>\n<div align=\"justify\" style=\"line-height: 20px; padding-right: 10px;\"><strong><br \/>\n<\/strong><\/div>\n<div align=\"justify\" style=\"font-family: verdana; line-height: 20px;\">Some common reasons for nosebleeds are as follows:<\/div>\n<ul style=\"font-family: verdana;\">\n<li>\n<div align=\"justify\" style=\"font-family: Tahoma, Arial, sans-serif; line-height: 20px;\">Nasal allergies<\/div>\n<\/li>\n<li>\n<div align=\"justify\" style=\"font-family: Tahoma, Arial, sans-serif; line-height: 20px;\">Blowing the nose too hard or trying to remove something from inside the nose.<\/div>\n<\/li>\n<li>\n<div align=\"justify\" style=\"font-family: Tahoma, Arial, sans-serif; line-height: 20px;\">A result of &#8220;popping&#8221; the ear<\/div>\n<\/li>\n<li>\n<div align=\"justify\" style=\"font-family: Tahoma, Arial, sans-serif; line-height: 20px;\">Nasal exposure to chemicals<\/div>\n<\/li>\n<li>\n<div align=\"justify\" style=\"font-family: Tahoma, Arial, sans-serif; line-height: 20px;\">Frequent sneezing or having an upper respiratory infection<\/div>\n<\/li>\n<li>\n<div align=\"justify\" style=\"font-family: Tahoma, Arial, sans-serif; line-height: 20px;\">Use of nasal spray or a blood\u2013thinning drug, such as aspirin<\/div>\n<\/li>\n<li>\n<div align=\"justify\" style=\"font-family: Tahoma, Arial, sans-serif; line-height: 20px;\">Inhaling air that is extremely dry or cold<\/div>\n<\/li>\n<li>\n<div align=\"justify\" style=\"font-family: Tahoma, Arial, sans-serif; line-height: 20px;\">Having undergone recent surgery on the nose or elsewhere on the face<\/div>\n<\/li>\n<li>\n<div align=\"justify\" style=\"font-family: Tahoma, Arial, sans-serif; line-height: 20px;\">Breaking the nose or a similar injury<\/div>\n<\/li>\n<li>\n<div align=\"justify\" style=\"font-family: Tahoma, Arial, sans-serif; line-height: 20px;\">Uncontrolled high blood pressure<\/div>\n<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<div align=\"justify\" style=\"font-family: verdana; line-height: 20px;\">Properly instructed patients may achieve control of bleeding unassisted. The correct procedure involves grasping the nose alae distally.
