On the directions of Shri Tejendra Khanna, Hon\u2019ble Lt. Governor, Delhi, Delhi Development Authority has developed 07 Mini Football Fields in different corners of the city and more such playfields are likely to be developed in future.  These fields have been developed with the objective of providing sports facilities to all the sections of the Society and also to promote and nurture sports talent amongst the budding sportspersons of the country. <\/div>\n
         In view of the directions of Lt. Governor efforts were made to locate playfields which can be developed into Mini Football Fields in a time-bound manner.  In all 11 such playfields have been developed out of which 4 are located within the already developed sports complexes of DDA such as  Netaji Subhas Sports Complex, Jasola; Dwarka Sports Complex<\/b>, Rashtriya Swabhiman Khel Parisar, Pitampura; Vasant Kunj Sports Complex, Vasant Kunj and balance 07 are located in playfields at Mandavali Fazalpur Mini Sports Complex, Vasundhara Sports Complex, Vasant Kunj \u2018B\u2019 Block Sports Complex, Vikas Puri, Partap Nagar, Rohini Sector -3 and Lawrence Road.   Each of the mini football fields have area less than usual  football field and here Six-a-Side mini Soccer tournament can be held.  All these 11 playfields have been developed by 15th September,2010 with a proper fencing so that playing by children does not interfere with the walkers or other visitors to the green area\/ play area. <\/div>\n
         It has now been decided to organize \u201cFive-a-Side Soccer\u201d championship from 25th October to 29th October, 2010<\/b> in these playfields.  It will be a school level tournament and will be played in two phases at various mini-football fields developed by DDA all over Delhi.  The total prize money is Rs.1.00 lakh. <\/div>\n

In Phase I, a school level zonal tournament will be played on 25th to 27th October , 2010 at the  following mini football fields. <\/div>\n
1.      Netaji Subhas Sports Complex, Jasola; <\/div>\n
2.      Vasant Kunj Sports Complex, Vasant Kunj<\/div>\n
3.      Pratap Nagar Mini Sports Complex and <\/div>\n
4.      Mandavali Fazalpur Mini Sports Complex<\/div>\n

Schools from within Delhi have been invited by DDA to participate in this tournament. <\/div>\n

            In Phase-II, the winners and runners-up of above Zonal Level Tournament will compete for the \u201cFive-a-side-Soccer\u201d championship.   The matches will be played at Dwarka Sports Complex<\/b> on 28th and 29th October, 2010<\/b>. <\/p>\n<\/div>\n
            The winner and runners-up of the  championship will be awarded a cash prize of Rs.31,000 and Rs.25,000 respectively alongwith championship trophy.  Both the semi-finalist  teams will get Rs.11,000\/- each and a trophy.  The highest scorer in each match of championship will also get a cash prize of Rs.2500 each and a trophy.  The duration of each match in the tournament and championship is reduced to 15 minutes each half with 5 minute strategic time.  The size of the field has also been reduced to much less than half of the normal football field size.  Over 100 school have been invited to participate and a healthy response is expected. <\/div>\n
