Shastriji\u2019s is an exceptional story of a common man and his rise to the post of Prime Minister of the world\u2019s largest democracy. He lent immense dignity to his office by meeting the demands that India\u2019s history made on him with integrity, truthfulness, modesty and courage. Lal Bahadur Shastri today is thus a symbol of simplicity and honesty. He not only was a true nationalist who took part in the freedom movement but also sacrificed his life while still serving the nation.<\/p>\n<p>However, a thought that still arises in all our minds is that Shastriji has not been given his dues. It is time the government does its best to ensure that his message of honouring the real India is passed on to future generations. We may have lost Shastriji many years ago but his slogan is relevant even today.
