\nEminent Experts, environmentalists, faith leaders, captains of industry, cine stars and representatives from global bodies including United Nations (UN) will be taking part in Two day high level summit titled \u201cYou are the Solution\u201d for rejuvenating and protecting the waters of holy river Ganga being organised on banks of Ganga at Parmarth Niketan, Rishikesh on June 3 & 4, 2017.<\/p>\n

\nThe Two day Summit on Hoy River Ganga and Green India is being organised by Global Interfaith WASH Alliance (GIWA) , world\u2019s first initiative that is engaging the planet\u2019s many faiths as allies in efforts to create a world where every human being has access to safe drinking water, improved sanitation and proper hygiene.<\/p>\n

Eminent personalities that will be taking pat in the summit include Uttarakhand governor K K Paul, CM Trivender Singh Rawat ,Cine star Hema Malini and Vivek Oberoi, central and various state ministers and spiritual leaders.<\/p>\n

\u201c The experts, spiritual leaders and dignitaries attending the Two day summit will discuss technical and social ways and means for continuous unpolluted flow of holy river Ganga ,the source of water for over 50 crore people\u2014 is one of the most threatened rivers in the world. Sadly, like River Ganga, many of our nation\u2019s other water sources are now also drying up as they simultaneously turn black with pollution.\u201d Said Pujya Swami Chidanand Sarswati, co-Founder , Global Interfaith WASH Alliance (GIWA) and President Parmarth Niketan, Rishikesh. <\/p>\n

\u201c Global Leaders attending the summit will discuss current challenges being faced by the holy river and suggest ways to protect and maintain aviral (free-flowing) and nirmal (unpolluted) state of river Ganga and find workable solutions to the problems of pollution and obstruction. .The holy river Ganga is the life source of region and also a powerful symbol of cultural and spiritual renewal. \u201c added Pujya Swami Chidanand Sarswati.<\/p><\/div>\n

\n\u201cNow, times are changing and the Ganga and Yamuna Rivers have been given rights equivalent to a person by a landmark decision of the Uttarakhand High Court. This means hope for millions of people dependent of Holy River Ganga but there is still much to be done. As our Ganga\u2019s\u2014and our nation\u2019s– waters decline and suffering increases, we know it\u2019s time to do more than talk and this Two day summit will help work towards progressive, life-changing actions. \u201c said Pujya Swami Chidanand ji.<\/div>\n

\u201cThe major highlight of the event, which will place a foremost emphasis on rejuvenating and protecting the waters of the Ganga, will commence on the morning of June 3rd with a state-level \u201cYou Are The Solution\u201d Summit. It will be followed on the evening of June 3rd with a large live-broadcasted National-level Summit with leaders of India\u2019s major faiths and other foremost dignitaries.
