\u201cLife is a\nmaths equation,in order to gain the most,you have to know how to convert\nnegative into positive\u201d.Mathematics is the science that deals with logic of\nshape, quantity and arrangement. Maths is all around us,in everything we do. It\nis the building block for everything in our lives,including mobile\ndevice,architecture,money,art,engineering and even sports.It is not about\nnumbers,equations,and computations.It is about understanding.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

To increase\nmaths aptitude amongst students various activities were peformed in different\nclasses during maths week so that children could better comprehend the\nimportance of maths. The objective was also to make maths interesting for\nstudents so that they become more and more keen to learn about maths. Maths\nweek was conducted from 17th<\/sup> December-21st<\/sup> December.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Students of class I were given intraclass activity on fancy dress on shapes.The student came dressed up wearing\ndifferent shapes and also spoke 6-7 lines emphasizing properties of shapes. Students\nhad great fun and shown their creativity through their activity.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Students of\nclass II performed \u201ccandy-con subtraction\u201d where they\nwere asked to perform maximum number of subtraction facts for the given number\nin the colourful candies they had pasted on A4 sheet.A student whole heartedly\nparticipated in the activity.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Students of\nclass III were asked to find the sum of digits of their\nadmission numbers and write the addition facts of the sum obtained in the\nactivity named \u201cAddition fact family\u201d. Students did this activity with joy.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Sudoko\npuzzle was given to the student of class IV.\nThey were explained the tricks to\nsolve it. Winners were applauded.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Humbola was\nplayed with class V students. Each student was given a ticket to\nplay. Numbers were spoken using different operations based on the chapter like\nfactors,multiples etc. children participated enthusiastically.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Class VI was divided into\ngroups. Each group was given five problems and student were asked to solve the\nquestion by first solving the clue and with that clue they were asked to reach\nthe question. This way by solving a series of questions they were supposed to\ncome out of the situation. It was a great fun for the students.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Students of class VII played a fun filled game named \u201cGame of Thrones\u201d. The student had to\ncompete for the throne by solving questions in a fun game way. The team scoring\nthe highest score was honoured by making them sit on the throne which was made\nin the class only.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

In class VIII activity conducted was catch the crook. Series of questions were given\nto the students. The one who reached the crook first was awarded.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Students of class IX were asked to make solid 3D shapes by making nets of solid. They\ndepicted different scenes, situations by using 3D shapes. Teaches made them\nfurther understand about the properties of 3D solid shapes.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Maths week culminated with Ramanujan Day where in class XI students\nparticipated in written tests followed by quiz. It was an inter school\nactivity. The student got to learn a lot through this competition.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The MATHS WEEK indeed contributed significantly in arousing interest\namong the students of diverse classes.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
