They are\nbrowsing through their favourite books and interacting with the authors. Their\ninterest in books shows that India has a bright future ahead.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>10 January is celebrated as World\nHindi Day every year which aims at promoting Hindi language across the world. New\nDelhi World Book Fair is also playing a significant role in promoting the\nlanguage. Over 240 Hindi publishers from across the country are exhibiting\ntheir books at Hall 12 (A) for the readers. Besides National Book Trust, India,\nthe other publishers include Bhartiya Jnanpith, Sahitya Akademi, Hindi Academy\nDelhi, Central Hindi Directorate, Kabir Gyan Prakashan Kendra, Geeta Press, Vani\nPrakashan, &nbsp;Rajkamal Prakashan, Raja\nPocket Books, etc.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<figure class=\"wp-block-image\"><img decoding=\"async\" src=\"data:image\/gif;base64,R0lGODlhAQABAAAAACH5BAEKAAEALAAAAAABAAEAAAICTAEAOw==\" data-layzr=\"https:\/\/dwarkaparichay.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2019\/01\/New-Delhi-World-Book-Fair3-2.jpg\" alt=\"\" class=\"wp-image-55646\"\/><\/figure>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>Theme Pavilion<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>&#8220;Reading textbooks only,\ndoes not inculcate the habit of reading,&#8221; said Prof. N K Jangira, NCERT at\na discussion held on the topic &#8216;Inculcating Reading Habit among Children with\nSpecial Needs&#8217; at Theme Pavilion. It is the&nbsp;\nsupplementary reading material which indeed helps in developing the\nhabit among children, he added. The other panelists included Prof. Anupam\nAhuja, Department of Education, NCERT and Ms Shantha Rangarajan, Principal,\nNational Association for the Blind. During the session, the speakers discussed\nabout the different ways through which children with special needs can be\nencouraged to read books. They were of the opinion that more reading material\nfor children needs to be developed and more efforts are required to create an\nenvironment of inclusive learning. The session was moderated by Shri Satish\nKapoor, Founder Director, We Care and Brotherhood.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<figure class=\"wp-block-image\"><img decoding=\"async\" src=\"data:image\/gif;base64,R0lGODlhAQABAAAAACH5BAEKAAEALAAAAAABAAEAAAICTAEAOw==\" data-layzr=\"https:\/\/dwarkaparichay.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2019\/01\/New-Delhi-World-Book-Fair4-2.jpg\" alt=\"\" class=\"wp-image-55648\"\/><\/figure>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>Author&#8217;s Corner<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>A conversation with authors,\nGeeta Shree and Himanshu Bajpai was organised by Storytel at Author&#8217;s Corner, Hall\nno. 8. The session was moderated&nbsp; by Giri\nRaj Kiradu. During the session Geeta Shree, read some stories from her newly\nlaunched book, <em>Haseenabaad<\/em>. She\nannounced that her book is being converted into an audio book as well. Later, Himanshu\nBajpai, Urdu author, read one of his famous stories. Giri Raj Kiradu was of the\nview that Himanshu is playing a major role in reviving the Urdu writing culture\nin our country. <\/p>\n\n\n\n<figure class=\"wp-block-image\"><img decoding=\"async\" src=\"data:image\/gif;base64,R0lGODlhAQABAAAAACH5BAEKAAEALAAAAAABAAEAAAICTAEAOw==\" data-layzr=\"https:\/\/dwarkaparichay.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2019\/01\/New-Delhi-World-Book-Fair6-2.jpg\" alt=\"\" class=\"wp-image-55649\"\/><\/figure>\n\n\n\n<p>A discussion on the book, <em>Birds in Delhi, <\/em>was held at Author&#8217;s\nCorner. The session was organised by Penguin Random House India, in\ncollaboration with D.K. Publishers. Sanjay Tiwari noted photographer and member\nof Delhi Trust Foundation interacted with the author Nikhil Devasar. He said\nthat the book contains five hundred species of birds; the most common to rarest\nof the rare. The book is perfect for any bird lover. It includes every\ninformation one might require &#8211; the months in which the birds are available and\nmigrate, their types and habits, etc. &#8220;If you love them, let them\nfly&#8221; &#8211; quoted the writer whole talking about his admiration towards\nnature. <\/p>\n\n\n\n<figure class=\"wp-block-image\"><img decoding=\"async\" src=\"data:image\/gif;base64,R0lGODlhAQABAAAAACH5BAEKAAEALAAAAAABAAEAAAICTAEAOw==\" data-layzr=\"https:\/\/dwarkaparichay.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2019\/01\/New-Delhi-World-Book-Fair2-2.jpg\" alt=\"\" class=\"wp-image-55650\"\/><\/figure>\n\n\n\n<p>At Authors&#8217; Corner, Publications\nDivision organised a discussion on &#8216;Bal Sahitya aur Gadgets Mein Uljhe Bal\nPathak&#8217; (Children&#8217;s Literature and Children&#8217;s Dependence on Gadgets). The\nspeakers on the occasion were&nbsp; Dr.\nSachidanand Joshi, Member Secretary of Indira Gandhi National Centre of Arts\n(IGNCA); Ms. Sadhna<em>Raut<\/em>, Director General, Publications Division; Dr Akhilesh Jha and Ms\nShamima Siddique. On this occasion, several books published by Publications\nDivision including <em>Bapu Ki Vani, Ved-Gatha, Hamare Samay Mein Upnishad,\nShekhawati Ki Lok Sanskriti, Haar Ki Khushi, Maa Ka Janmdin, Bal Mahabharat,\nChildren&#8217;s Vivekanand<\/em> were launched.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>Children&#8217;s Pavilion<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>A storytelling session&nbsp; was held at the Children&#8217;s Pavilion in which Sujata\nSuri interacted with children and narrated stories on cleanliness and\nrecycling. The session was organised by SNS Foundation, Pratham, Deep\nFoundation and Koshish. <\/p>\n\n\n\n<figure class=\"wp-block-image\"><img decoding=\"async\" src=\"data:image\/gif;base64,R0lGODlhAQABAAAAACH5BAEKAAEALAAAAAABAAEAAAICTAEAOw==\" data-layzr=\"https:\/\/dwarkaparichay.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2019\/01\/New-Delhi-World-Book-Fair5-2.jpg\" alt=\"\" class=\"wp-image-55645\"\/><\/figure>\n\n\n\n<p>Jaishree Sethi, Storyghar, told\nthe nuances of creating jingles for radio to the children. They were then asked\nto create their own jingles. The children came up with a jingle on the book\nfair based on a popular Bollywood song, <em>Suno\nzor se duniya walon, sabse aage hoga apna Book Fair<\/em>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>During the day, children also\npresented skits on &#8216;Jangal Ka Maharaja Kaun,&#8217; and&nbsp; &#8216;Paryavaran Sanrakshan.&#8217; These skits were\nperformed by the children from Koshish Special School and Mata Daan Kaur\nSchool, respectively.&nbsp; <\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>New Delhi World Book Fair is witnessing the participation of a large number of young readers.
