Today being the seventh day,\na large number of book lovers, school and college students, parents, teachers,\nlibrarians and books lovers of all age-groups visited the Fair, not wanting to\nmiss the opportunity. Their love for printed books shows that even in this age\nof technology, printed books have not lost their significance. <\/p>\n\n\n\n<figure class=\"wp-block-image\"><img decoding=\"async\" src=\"data:image\/gif;base64,R0lGODlhAQABAAAAACH5BAEKAAEALAAAAAABAAEAAAICTAEAOw==\" data-layzr=\"https:\/\/dwarkaparichay.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2019\/01\/New-Delhi-World-Book-Fair-4.jpg\" alt=\"\" class=\"wp-image-55674\"\/><\/figure>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><strong>Theme Pavilion<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Ms\nMridula Sinha, Hon&#8217;ble Governor of Goa and noted author also visited&nbsp; New\nDelhi World Book Fair. She&nbsp; appreciated the theme presentation of the book\nfair and said that she had a great affection for books and has been visiting\nthe book fair for last many years.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<figure class=\"wp-block-image\"><img decoding=\"async\" src=\"data:image\/gif;base64,R0lGODlhAQABAAAAACH5BAEKAAEALAAAAAABAAEAAAICTAEAOw==\" data-layzr=\"https:\/\/dwarkaparichay.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2019\/01\/New-Delhi-World-Book-Fair-5.jpg\" alt=\"\" class=\"wp-image-55673\"\/><\/figure>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">An\ninteraction with paralympians Rajinder Singh, Manpreet Kaur, Parvinder Singh\nwas organised. They talked about the various facets of their lives, their\nchildhood, their aspirations, support from their parents and finally their\njourney to the world of sports. They were of the view that if there is somebody\nto guide them, then they can definitely reach heights and gain respectable\nposition in the society. Shri Jaswant Singh Zafar was the moderator of the\nsession. Later, there was an interaction with the differently-abled singer Shri\nBant Singh Jhabbar. His is a poignant tale of suffering, he lost his both arms\nand a leg in an attack for protesting against his daughter&#8217;s gang rape.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<figure class=\"wp-block-image\"><img decoding=\"async\" src=\"data:image\/gif;base64,R0lGODlhAQABAAAAACH5BAEKAAEALAAAAAABAAEAAAICTAEAOw==\" data-layzr=\"https:\/\/dwarkaparichay.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2019\/01\/New-Delhi-World-Book-Fair-3.jpg\" alt=\"\" class=\"wp-image-55675\"\/><\/figure>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">In\nanother session, the National Book Trust, India organised a music programme at\nthe Theme Pavilion. The visually impaired students of Government School for\nBlind Jamalpur, Ludhiana mesmerised the audience with their performance. The\nparticipants at the programme were Simer, Lovely Mehta, Sandeep Kaur, Manpreeet\nKaur and Harshita Sehgal.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<figure class=\"wp-block-image\"><img decoding=\"async\" src=\"data:image\/gif;base64,R0lGODlhAQABAAAAACH5BAEKAAEALAAAAAABAAEAAAICTAEAOw==\" data-layzr=\"https:\/\/dwarkaparichay.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2019\/01\/New-Delhi-World-Book-Fair-2.jpg\" alt=\"\" class=\"wp-image-55676\"\/><\/figure>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><strong>Children&#8217;s Pavilion<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">The\nbeautifully-designed Children&#8217;s Pavilion is drawing attention of a number of children\nvisiting the New Delhi World Book Fair. Several programmes for and by children\nare being organised at the Fair.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">A\nseminar on constitutional rights of the children was organised at the\nChildren&#8217;s Pavilion. The panelists were: Shri S.K. Saxena; Ms Sujata Gupta,\nPrincipal, Nigam Pratibha School; Shri Bikas Roy, MD, IFCI Factors Ltd.; Shri\nRajesh Mishra, founder, Temple of Learning and Ms Savita Singh, Advocate,\nSupreme Court. The speakers discussed about the rights of children as mentioned\nin the Constitution of India like Right to Education, Right to choose medium of\nlanguage, Right to Information among others. The seminar was organised by ABDS\nCorporation. <\/p>\n\n\n\n<figure class=\"wp-block-image\"><img decoding=\"async\" src=\"data:image\/gif;base64,R0lGODlhAQABAAAAACH5BAEKAAEALAAAAAABAAEAAAICTAEAOw==\" data-layzr=\"https:\/\/dwarkaparichay.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2019\/01\/New-Delhi-World-Book-Fair-7.jpg\" alt=\"\" class=\"wp-image-55677\"\/><\/figure>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">In\naddition, two story writing workshops were also organised in which well-known\nauthor Sanjeev Jaiswal, helped children learn the nuances of writing good\nstories. He also narrated stories on &#8216;Chimpu and Shera&#8217;. The other workshop was\norganised by Amity University in which Dr Ira Saxena, well-known author\nand&nbsp; psychologist interacted with the children.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">A\npanel discussion on &#8216;Science Writing for the Children and Young Adults&#8217; was\norganised at the Children&#8217;s Pavilion. During the session, the speakers\ndiscussed about the various aspects of science writing in India for children\nand young. They also discussed about the status of science writing in major\nIndian languages. The panelists were Dr Biman Basu, Dr Anjana Chattopadhyay, Dr\nArchita Bhatta, Dr Bimal Kanti Sen, among others. <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><strong>Author&#8217;s Corner<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">An\naudio book, titled &#8216;October Junction,&#8217; authored by Divya Prakash Dubey&nbsp; was released at Author&#8217;s Corner, Hall 8.\nDivya Prakash Dubey talked about &#8216;new Hindi literature&#8217; and how it has been\ncriticised and praised at the same time. He remarked that society should start\naccepting such Hindi literature in order to make a better connectivity with today&#8217;s\nyouth. The session was moderated by Nilopat Mrinal, author of the book &#8216;Dark\nHorse.&#8217;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">At\nLekhak Manch, a discussion on humour in drama was organised by Vyang Yatra. The\npanelists were: Pratap Sehgal, Rajesh Kumar, Rajendra Rao, Pragya Rohini among\nothers. They discussed about the different aspects of humour in Hindi\nliterature. On this occasion, books like <em>Mere\nMann Ki Bal Kahaniyan<\/em> and <em>Pande Ji\naur Fursat Ke Laddu<\/em>, were also released.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">A\nfestival of poetry was organised by Vishwa Hindi Sahitya Parishad at Lekhak\nManch. Well-known Hindi poets, Shri Girish Pankaj, Shri Harendra Pratap, Dr\nVivek Gautam, Dr Rajesh Srivastava and Ms Swati Shweta mesmerised the audience\nwith their works.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">The\nbooks &#8216;Modi@Success India&#8217; and &#8216;Mission Impossible&#8217;, authored by Renu Saini\nwere released at Author&#8217;s Corner, Hall no. 8. The special guests on the\noccasion were: Shri Proful Ketki, Shri Harishchand Pandwal, Shri Prabhat and\nShri Piyush. While interacting with the authors, Renu Saini said Modi ji has\ninspired her to write this book, as he brought common people of our nation into\nlimelight, setting a benchmark for future Prime Ministers. Further, she\nmentioned her new book &#8216;Mission Impossible&#8217;, explains the struggles one has to\nface at different stages of life.
