A large number people waiting for their turn in the queues to\nbuy fair tickets at Metro stations could be seen. Each and every hall, and the\nstalls of different publishers from across the country witnessed the arrival of\nhuge crowd of book lovers. Over one and half lakh people visited the book fair\non the second last day. the book fair ends on Sunday.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>Children&#8217;s Pavilion<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>National\nBook Trust, India organised a conversation with Shri Rajeev Ranjan at\nChildren&#8217;s Pavilion. Shri Rajeev Ranjan talked about the role of police In\nIndia and discussed the aspects of road safety. According to him, \u201cThe police\ndoes not come from an alien planet, they are the people from amongst us. We\nshould not take them as strangers.\u201c He also talked about the life of Netaji\nSubhash Chandra Bose, significance of Sarnath Stupa and Buddhism, etc.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<figure class=\"wp-block-image\"><img decoding=\"async\" src=\"data:image\/gif;base64,R0lGODlhAQABAAAAACH5BAEKAAEALAAAAAABAAEAAAICTAEAOw==\" data-layzr=\"https:\/\/dwarkaparichay.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2019\/01\/New-Delhi-World-Book-Fair2-3.jpg\" alt=\"\" class=\"wp-image-55699\"\/><\/figure>\n\n\n\n<p>To help\nchildren learn the different ways to narrate stories, a workshop titled &#8216;Let&#8217;s\nTell Tales,&#8217; was organised by Katha at the Children&#8217;s Pavilion. Children from\nKatha narrated two stories viz. Kaanch ka Ped and Abba&#8217;s Day. A large number of\nchildren from Udaan, an NGO, Katha and Sangeeta Institute of Performing Arts\nwere present on the occasion.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The\ndisabled children from the Delhi Society for the Welfare of Special Children\npresented a skit on girl child (Beti Bachao, Beti padao).&nbsp; In addition, a musical performance was given\nby the children of Sangeeta Institute of Performing Arts.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<figure class=\"wp-block-image\"><img decoding=\"async\" src=\"data:image\/gif;base64,R0lGODlhAQABAAAAACH5BAEKAAEALAAAAAABAAEAAAICTAEAOw==\" data-layzr=\"https:\/\/dwarkaparichay.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2019\/01\/New-Delhi-World-Book-Fair3-3.jpg\" alt=\"\" class=\"wp-image-55700\"\/><\/figure>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>Theme\nPavilion<\/strong><strong><\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>A Malwai Gidha\nperformance, organised by National Book Trust, India in collaboration with\nPunjabi Akademi, Delhi, took place at Theme Pavilion, Hall no. 7E. The bustling\ngroup presented an amazing performance for the audience. The participants\nSukhwant Singh Bandhesha, Jagjit Singh Shergil, Darshan Singh Patil, Balbir\nSingh Gill, Bhola Kulheri, Nirmal Singh, Ranjit Singh, Kamal Sharma, Bhupinder\nJhaij, Nirlep Singh, Sukhwinder Sukhi, Gurdev Singh Drumer and Pritam Singh\nRupali are all above age fifty, yet they left no stone unturned to show\nenthusiasm and energy in their Gidha performance. <\/p>\n\n\n\n<figure class=\"wp-block-image\"><img decoding=\"async\" src=\"data:image\/gif;base64,R0lGODlhAQABAAAAACH5BAEKAAEALAAAAAABAAEAAAICTAEAOw==\" data-layzr=\"https:\/\/dwarkaparichay.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2019\/01\/New-Delhi-World-Book-Fair6-3.jpg\" alt=\"\" class=\"wp-image-55701\"\/><\/figure>\n\n\n\n<p>At Theme\nPavilion, &#8216;Swaranjali&#8217; a musical programme reflecting the culture and tradition\nof Maharashtra was organised. The program\nstarted with Shri Ganesh Vandana. Marathi artists Shri Jeevan Talgaonkar and\nhis group presented traditional folk music. After this, a colorful presentation\nof the famous folk dance of Maharashtra, Lavani, was performed by Ms. Sujata\nNandeshwar and her group. The artists presented the dance in their traditional\ncostumes. The programme was conducted by Ms Anju Kamble.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>Author&#8217;s\nCorner<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>At Lekhak\nManch, a discussion on Indian languages and their global presence was organised\nby Yuva Sanstha in which Ms Mridula Sinha, Hon&#8217;ble Governor of Goa, Shri\nYatindra Mishra, well-known author and Shri Bhagwan Das Morwal, novelist was\nalso present.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<figure class=\"wp-block-image\"><img decoding=\"async\" src=\"data:image\/gif;base64,R0lGODlhAQABAAAAACH5BAEKAAEALAAAAAABAAEAAAICTAEAOw==\" data-layzr=\"https:\/\/dwarkaparichay.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2019\/01\/New-Delhi-World-Book-Fair4-3.jpg\" alt=\"\" class=\"wp-image-55702\"\/><\/figure>\n\n\n\n<p>To discuss\nabout the various aspects of &#8216;The Great Indian Book Bazaar,&#8217; a discussion was\norganised at Author&#8217;s Corner, Hall no. 8. Moderated by Ms Neeta Gupta, the\npanelists were: Ms Meera Johri, Rajpal; Ms Aditi Maheshwari Goyal; Vani\nPrakashan; Shri Alind Maheshwari, Rajkamal Prakashan; Shri Yatindra Mishra,\nwell-known author and editor; Shri Naveen Chaudhary, Oxford University Press\nand Shri Gaurav Sabharwal, Prakash Books. During the\nsession, the speakers discussed about the use of social media, ecommerce,\ntranslations, distribution, self publishing and the challenges faced by\npublishers to promote and sell books. They also talked about if Indian\npublishing industry could become a global market.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>An\ninteraction with authors Maneesha Aggarwal, Ranjeet Singh Arora, Geetika Saigal\nand Antar Atreya, was organised by Invincible Publisher at Author&#8217;s Corner,\nHall No. 8. Ruchika Khanna was the moderator of the event. During the session,\nthe authors introduced their recently published books to the audience. Ranjeet\nSingh Arora, wrote his debut book &#8216;When Blessings Come&#8217;, along with two other\nbooks about banking. He mentioned, being a banker, his personality has\ncontradicted what his job had demanded, but he somehow survived thirty decades\nin this industry. Geetika Saigal shed some light on her new book &#8216;Finding your\nG Spot&#8217; and how it aimed at exploring one self. Further, Antar Atreya talked\nabout his book &#8216;Chronicles of the Mortal Vishnu&#8217; and how the book is for\nreaders who like fantasies with logic. <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The\nyoungest entrepreneur awardee of India, Dr. Anand G Naik, launched his debut\nbook &#8217;18 but not Teen&#8217; at Author&#8217;s Corner, Hall no. 8. Organised by Turquoise\nPublishers, the session was moderated by Mousumi K Sachdeva. Ms Neeta Arora,\nPrincipal, Shri Venkateshwara International School, was the chief guest. While\ninteracting with the audience, the debutant author, Dr. Anand G Naik said he\ndecided to write this book four years ago. But when he faced failures in\nbusiness &nbsp;due to lack of exposure and\nexperience, the book modified into a zeal to improve oneself. He also talked\nabout the problems that he faced in his college days. Ms Neeta Arora, was of\nthe view that the real purpose of education is to explore oneself. She said\nthis book is a guide to the youths to attain optimistic tolerance. <\/p>\n\n\n\n<figure class=\"wp-block-image\"><img decoding=\"async\" src=\"data:image\/gif;base64,R0lGODlhAQABAAAAACH5BAEKAAEALAAAAAABAAEAAAICTAEAOw==\" data-layzr=\"https:\/\/dwarkaparichay.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2019\/01\/New-Delhi-World-Book-Fair5-3.jpg\" alt=\"\" class=\"wp-image-55703\"\/><\/figure>\n\n\n\n<p>Authors\nGuild of India in collaboration with National Book Trust, India organised a\nday-long seminar on &#8216;Books for Readers with Special Needs&#8217; at Hall no. 8. During\nthe first session, the speakers including Dr Shyam Singh Shashi, Dr Prem Singh,\nDr Jagdish, Dr Lily Gupta and Dr Shivshankar Avasthi discussed about the\nreading needs of persons with special needs. They emphasised on the need for\nmore and more libraries, audio books, recorders and other helpful tools for\ndifferently abled readers. They also talked about celebrities like Sudha\nChandran, Ravindra Jain, Louis Braille among other. Several books were also\nreleased including <em>Aadmi Ka Sach, Zindagi\nKa Canvas, Kavya Kalash<\/em> and <em>Sahitya\nTab Aur Abb<\/em>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<figure class=\"wp-block-image\"><img decoding=\"async\" src=\"data:image\/gif;base64,R0lGODlhAQABAAAAACH5BAEKAAEALAAAAAABAAEAAAICTAEAOw==\" data-layzr=\"https:\/\/dwarkaparichay.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2019\/01\/New-Delhi-World-Book-Fair1-2.jpg\" alt=\"\" class=\"wp-image-55704\"\/><\/figure>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>Cultural Programmes<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Every\nevening several cultural programmes for visitors are being organised at\nHamsdhwani Theatre. The visitors are participating in these events\nenthusiastically. Today, Urdu poets mesmerised the book lovers with their\nshayari (poetry).
