National Book Trust, India\n(under Ministry of HRD, Govt. of India) is the nodal agency coordinating the\nGuest Country Presentation at the Book Fair. The designation of India as the\nGuest Country was declared in the Joint Statement signed between the Hon&#8217;ble\nPrime Minister of India and the Hon&#8217;ble President of France during the latter&#8217;s\nvisit to India in February 2018. The Joint Statement also mentions that France\nwill be the Guest Country at the New Delhi World Book Fair 2022.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<figure class=\"wp-block-image\"><img decoding=\"async\" src=\"data:image\/gif;base64,R0lGODlhAQABAAAAACH5BAEKAAEALAAAAAABAAEAAAICTAEAOw==\" data-layzr=\"https:\/\/dwarkaparichay.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2019\/04\/INDIA-Designated-as-the-GUEST-COUNTRY-at-Paris-Book-Fair-in-2020b.jpg\" alt=\"\" class=\"wp-image-56869\"\/><\/figure>\n\n\n\n<p>As a follow-up to the next year&#8217;s Guest of Honour\nPresentation at Paris Book fair, the National Book Trust, India participated in\nthe recently concluded Paris Book Fair 2019 (15-18 March), held at Paris Expo, Porte\nde Versailles, Paris. From the National Book Trust, India, a two-member\ndelegation were present at the book fair \u2013 Dr Rita Chowdhury, Director and Mr\nKumar Vikram, Editor &amp; Project In-charge. The National Book Trust, India\ndelegates also called on the Hon\u2019ble Ambassador of India to France, Mr Vinay\nMohan Kwatra, at the Embassy of India in Paris, to brief him about India\u2019s\nGuest Country Project at Livre Paris 2020. The Hon\u2019ble Ambassador was also\npresented a copy of the NBT publication \u2018Gandhi: The Writer\u2019 authored by\nBhabhani Bhattacharya.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<figure class=\"wp-block-image\"><img decoding=\"async\" src=\"data:image\/gif;base64,R0lGODlhAQABAAAAACH5BAEKAAEALAAAAAABAAEAAAICTAEAOw==\" data-layzr=\"https:\/\/dwarkaparichay.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2019\/04\/INDIA-Designated-as-the-GUEST-COUNTRY-at-Paris-Book-Fair-in-2020c.jpg\" alt=\"\" class=\"wp-image-56870\"\/><\/figure>\n\n\n\n<p>On the final day of the fair, in a formal ceremony,\nMr. Vincent Montagne, President of &#8216;French Publishers Association&#8217; (SNE), the organisers\nof the Livre Paris, announced the participation of India as Guest Country in\nthe next edition of Livre Paris. Dr Rita Chowdhury thanked Mr Montagne and\nexpressed NBT&#8217;s commitment to showcase a grand presentation of India as Guest\nCountry in Livre Paris 2020.
