The Fair saw participation of nearly 7500 exhibitors\nfrom 109 countries. Norway was the Guest of Honour Country this year.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>National Book\nTrust, India which has been participating in the Frankfurt Book Fair since\n1970, and has the rare distinction of presenting India as the Guest of Honour Country\nat the Fair twice (in 1986 and 2006), had a very rich and engaging\nparticipation this year.<\/p>\n\n\n\n\n\n<p>NBT, India\nhad put up a Collective Exhibit of more than 200 titles of 32 Indian publishers\nand also had Vigyan Prasar as co-exhibitor. The Collective Exhibit of books was\nalso enlivened with tastefully done panel size posters projecting &#8216;Books on and\nby Mahatma Gandhi&#8217;, &#8216;Gandhi: The Writers&#8217; Writer&#8217;, &#8216;Reading Spaces in India: A\nRepresentative Chronology&#8217;, &#8216;New Delhi World Book Fair 2020&#8217;, Guest Country Presentations\nof India in 2019-20 at Abu Dhabi International Book Fair (UAE), Guadalajara\nInternational Book Fair (Mexico) and Paris Book Fair (France). The books of the\nCollective Exhibit were donated to the library of the Consulate General of\nIndia, Frankfurt for further use for the local readers.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<figure class=\"wp-block-image\"><img decoding=\"async\" src=\"data:image\/gif;base64,R0lGODlhAQABAAAAACH5BAEKAAEALAAAAAABAAEAAAICTAEAOw==\" data-layzr=\"https:\/\/dwarkaparichay.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2019\/10\/National-Book-Trust-India-Participated-in-the-Frankfurt-Book-Fair-2019-1.jpg\" alt=\"\" class=\"wp-image-59533\"\/><\/figure>\n\n\n\n<p>The NBT,\nIndia delegation had meetings and interactions with nearly 45 delegates\nrepresenting 25 countries including Chief Executive Officers, Managing\nDirectors and other senior professionals from publishing houses, International\nBook Fair Authorities, International Book Trade Journals, Rights Agencies,\nInternational Book Distributors, besides authors, editors and readers for\ncollaborations in the field of publishing through translations and copyright\nexchange, book fairs, book promotion.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The\nthree-member delegation from NBT, India led by its Chairman, Prof Govind Prasad\nSharma, included Shri Kumar Vikram, Editor &amp; Project Head, and Shri Mayank\nSurolia, Deputy Director.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>The 2019 edition of Frankfurt Book Fair, the world&#8217;s largest B2B book fair, came to an end on 20 October 2019.
