In collaboration with SPACE India, Sri Venkateshwar International School<\/strong>, Sector 18A, Dwarka hosted a\nrange of activities for the students of classes I to VI during the World Space\nWeek, in order to instil the feeling of love for Astronomy and Space. The young\nastronomers participated in plethora of activities with great zeal and\nenthusiasm and showcased their talent under the Universe In<\/strong> The School\nprogram of SPACE India.<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

World Space Week is a United Nations declared event which\nhas grown into the largest public space event on Earth. The General\nAssembly declares 4 to 10 October World Space Week to celebrate each year at\nthe international level the contributions of space science and technology to\nthe betterment of the human condition.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Students got an\nopportunity to interact with NASA – National Aeronautics and Space\nAdministration Spacecraft System Engineer Ms. Ann Devereaux at American\nCentre.<\/strong> Students celebrated International Observe the Moon Night which is a\nworldwide celebration of lunar science and exploration, celestial observation,\nand our cultural and personal connections to the Moon by clicking pictures with\nthe Moon and made their parents, relatives and friends aware of this\ninternational event.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Astronomy Picture of\nthe Day activity was organized by Ms. Heena Bhatia, Senior Educator at SPACE\nIndia.<\/strong> Students of classes V & VI made beautiful paintings on the theme\nof World Space Week 2019- \u201cThe Moon : Gateway to the stars\u201d. Ms. Nita Arora, school principal judged the\npaintings and declared the winners.<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

Students also\nparticipated and won various national level competitions organized by SPACE\nIndia. <\/strong>Ahana Singh of class V-Strawberries secured first runners up in\ncategory IV-V and Kartikeya Johar of class VIII-B secured first prize in\ncategory VI-VIII in UITS Dr. Kalam Debate Competition. Ananya Bisht of class\nIII-Mulberries secured first runners up in category I-III in National Astro\nToon Competition.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The UITS program\nremains unmatched to see and behold<\/strong>. It was a great learning experience\nwhich gave them an edge to learn Astronomy and the Celestial World. The\ncreative young minds could explore far beyond what normal eyes could see and\nthe students look forward to see more such fun-filled learning experiences.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
