Shri H.K. Kaul,\nDELNET Director and the Network Manager, Sangeeta Kaul interacted with\nchildren.&nbsp; <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>A workshop was organized on Meri Dus Ungliyan, which included fun\nactivities like Screen Painting, Paper Meshes and Mask marking by Apna Konaa\nCreative Foundation. The children were happily engaged in the series of\ncreative activities throughout the day.<\/p>\n\n\n\n\n\n<p><strong>New Delhi Rights Table<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The annual business forum, the New Delhi Rights\nTable was organized at the fair by the National Book Trust, India, where over\n40 publishers from India and abroad participated in the event. The New Delhi\nRights Table is a unique business forum where publishers meet and exchange\ntheir business interests like selling and buying of book rights of their\nrespective titles.<\/p>\n\n\n\n\n\n<p><strong>Theme Pavilion<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>National\nBook Trust, India in association with Punjabi Akademi, Delhi organized a street\nplay on Mahatma Gandhi at the Theme Pavilion. Performed by Sarthak Theatre,\nPatiala; the scriptwriter of the play was Shri Balram and directors of the play\nwere Dr Lakha Lahiri and Dr Inderjit Kaur. The artists included Pushpendra\nSohi, Jashnapreet, Arvinder kaur, Malkeet Singh, Vipul Ahuja, Shubham, Devender\nPreet Singh, Riddam, Gurpreet Singh Golu and Shahbaz. The play depicted the\nphilosophy and teachings of Gandhiji.&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n\n\n<p>Shri\nShivraj Singh Chauhan, Ex-Chief Minister of Madhya Pradesh, visited the Theme\nPavilion \u2013 Gandhi: Writers\u2019 Writer \u2013 based on Gandhiji\u2019s life, philosophy and\nteachings, which also houses 500 titles from 100 publishers in different Indian\nlanguages and in English. He appreciated NBT\u2019s efforts in portraying the\nmessages of Mahatma Gandhi in such a creative manner as depicted in the\naesthetically and beautifully designed Theme Pavilion.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Shri\nVinay Sahasrabuddhe, President of Indian Council for Cultural Relations (ICCR),\nalso visited the book fair.<\/p>\n\n\n\n\n\n<p><strong>Author\u2019s Corners \/\nSeminars<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>A seminar was organized on <em>&#8216;Vagyanik\ntatha Takniki Shabdavali par Charcha&#8217;<\/em>, by the Commission for Scientific and\nTechnical Technology (CSTT), Govt. of India on the importance of mother tongue\nand its learning. The speakers included Dr. Hari Singh Pal; Dr. Om Vikash; Dr.\nJagdev Sharma; and Prof. P. C. Tandon.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>A discussion on the book&nbsp;<em>Stree\nNirmiti<\/em>&nbsp;authored by Ms Sujata was organized by Samayik Prakashan at\nLekhak Manch. The speakers on this occasion included Hemlata Maheshwar, Sudha\nSingh, Ujjwal Bhattacharya and Madan Kashyap. The speakers discussed about\ndifferent aspects of the book and discussed in detail the status of women in\npresent and past, and the challenges they face in the society as well in their\nfamilies.&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n\n\n<p><strong>International Events\nCorner<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>A reading session was held at the International\nEvents Corner with Anna Sophie and Stine Askov, novelists from Denmark. Dr.\nSaleh Bin Daifullah Al Umari from Islamic University, Madinah, Saudi Arabia,\nmade a presentation on \u2018Partnership with International Educational Institutions\u2019.\nProf.&nbsp; Z. A. Farooqi, Academic Advisor,\nCultural Attach\u00e9, Saudi Arabia moderated the session. In addition, a\nPresentation on \u2018Role of Language and Literature in Strengthening Cultural Ties\nbetween India and the Arab World\u2019 by Prof. Z A Farooqi, Academic Advisor,\nCultural Attach\u00e9 Office, Saudi Arabia was also organised by the Embassy of\nSaudi Arabia.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>Cultural Evening<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The day ended on a musical note with\nmesmerizing cultural performances by Sahitya Kala Parishad and a play on Mahatma\nGandhi by Kala Mandali performers.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>The children had a field day today at the New Delhi World Book Fair 2020 with lots of interactive, interesting and informative activities and programmes being held for them throughout the day.
