{"id":6870,"date":"2014-06-21T09:46:00","date_gmt":"2014-06-21T09:46:00","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/dwarkaparichay.com\/blog\/2014\/06\/president-of-india-to-receive-copy-of\/"},"modified":"2018-06-04T16:32:50","modified_gmt":"2018-06-04T16:32:50","slug":"president-of-india-to-receive-copy-of","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/dwarkaparichay.com\/blog\/president-of-india-to-receive-copy-of\/","title":{"rendered":"PRESIDENT OF INDIA TO RECEIVE A COPY OF ENCYCLOPEDIA OF HINDUISM"},"content":{"rendered":"<div dir=\"ltr\" style=\"text-align: left;\" trbidi=\"on\">\n<div>\n<\/div>\n<p>President Pranab Mukherjee will receive a copy of Encyclopedia of Hinduism, carrying about 7,000 entries by 1,000 esteemed scholars from across the world.<\/p>\n<div class=\"separator\" style=\"clear: both; text-align: center;\">\n<a href=\"http:\/\/dwarkaparichay.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2014\/06\/Encyclopaedia-of-Hinduism-to-be-presented-to-Prez-of-India.jpg\" imageanchor=\"1\" style=\"clear: right; float: right; margin-bottom: 1em; margin-left: 1em;\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" border=\"0\" src=\"data:image\/gif;base64,R0lGODlhAQABAAAAACH5BAEKAAEALAAAAAABAAEAAAICTAEAOw==\" data-layzr=\"http:\/\/dwarkaparichay.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2014\/06\/Encyclopaedia-of-Hinduism-to-be-presented-to-Prez-of-India.jpg\" height=\"400\" width=\"265\" \/><\/a><\/div>\n<p>\nA function will be held at the Rashtrapati Bhavan on Monday, June 23, 2014 to give a copy of the encyclopedia, an official release said.&nbsp;Encyclopedia of Hinduism is a project of Rishikesh- based India Heritage Research Foundation (IHRF).<\/p>\n<p>&#8220;Twenty-five years in the making, the product of more than 1,000 esteemed scholars from around the world, totaling 11-volumes and approximately 7,000 entries, the Encyclopedia of Hinduism is the first time in history that the depth and breadth of India&#8217;s great spiritual culture is made available in authentic, academic and scholastic form,&#8221; the IHRF said.<\/p>\n<p>The encyclopedia is a compendium of thousands of years of history, science, art, architecture, polity, religion, philosophy and culture, it said.<\/p>\n<p>&#8220;Further, the encyclopedia is not limited to Hinduism as a religion, but rather provides all inclusive treatment of India&#8217;s spiritual culture (including coverage of Sikhism, Jainism and Buddhism traditions in India),&#8221; the IHRF said. <\/p>\n<p>The encyclopedia was launched in India by His Holiness the Dalai Lama and the international edition was launched in the US by the University of South Carolina, Columbia.&nbsp;The encyclopedia was conceived by Swami Chidanand Saraswatiji, founder of IHRF, it said.<\/p><\/div>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>President Pranab Mukherjee will receive a copy of Encyclopedia of Hinduism, carrying about 7,000 entries by 1,000 esteemed scholars from across the world.
