Ever since the formation(Sept, 2010), SUKH DUKH KE SATHI SANSTHA (SDKS) is carrying lot of social work\/activities on ongoing basis having direct bearing on the community. People all around Dwarka & particularly that of Sectors 22 &23 know about the tirelessly efforts being made by all the members of SDKS in shaping these sectors comparatively better than other sectors specially in the field of environment related issues or otherwise also.<\/p>\n

\n\u201cWorld Environment Day\u201d celebrations were carried by SDKS in four phases, as under:-<\/p>\n

PHASE-I :On 31st May\u20192014, removal of weeded grass from the park behind Manish Global Mal, Sec-22 & on 1st June,2014 from the park behind Dream Apartments, in Sec-22.<\/p>\n

PHASE-II : In the evening of Sunday,2nd June,2014,destilting of Water Body in Sec-23, was done by carrying \u201cKAR SEWA\/SHRUM DAN\u201d not only by our members but large number of other Social Groups\/NGO\u2019s & residents from the adjoining Pochanpur village had also joined their hands for the noble cause.<\/p>\n

PHASE-III : On 4th June\u20192014,with the help of MCD staff, cleanliness drive was carried in the service lane, from DDA SFS Flats to Harmony Aptts of Sec-23.<\/p>\n

PHASE-IV: In the last leg, in house function was held on Saturday,7th June,2014 in the Community Hall of Chitrakoot Appts, Plot-9, Sec-22, Dwarka with an objective to create awareness among the society about the various aspects of environment related issues. For the purpose,eminent personalities having in depth knowledge relating to different spectrums of environment were invited to share their views.<\/p><\/div>\n

\nTopics\/discussions covered were :-<\/p>\n

\u201cRevival of Water Bodies\u201d by Sh Diwan Singh, Social\/ Environment Activist
\u201cGarbage Management\u201d by Sh A. Sriram, Director-Operations from Indian Green Service,
\u201d Ground Water of Dwarka\u201d by Prof. Shashan Shekhar, H.O. Hydro geologist Deptt , Delhi University, \u201cConnecting People to Plants\u201d by Dr.P.K.Datta, Naturalist ,
\u201d Noise Pollution\u201d by Sh. Ravi Kalra,Founder Earth Saviours Foundation.<\/div>\n

\nLearnt speakers were able to convey strong message effectively to the audience on criticality of protecting our mother nature using various available means. People interacted with each speaker & gained a lot of insight about environment related details which in turn will surely help the citizens to do their best to save the environment. Environment related poems were also recited by the members. <\/div>\n
\n<\/div>\n
\nSh. Suresh Yadav, Commissioner SDMC, who presided over the function, emphasized to protect environment on ongoing basis .He also recited two poems relating to tree & mother earth. Sh. Rajesh Gehlot, MLA, updated the august gathering about the work in progress on Najafgarh drain & requested each CGHS of Dwarka to revive their Rain Water Harvesting System, which as of now is non functional\/chocked almost in all the societies.<\/div>\n

Quite a large gathering was there including key persons from Dwarka Forum, Ek Sangharsh,ANLGT & nearby societies. Every one applauded the team efforts of SDKS in serving the community in their second inning of life, which is a source of motivation\/inspiration\/guiding force for others of same age group & to the new generation in particular.<\/p>\n

Horticulture \/ Sanitation staff were felicitated through the hands of Sh. Vijay Shanker Singh, President, SDKS & Shri Yadav, Commisioner SDMC .Col.(Retd) Chowdhary. Jt. Sec,SDKS conveyed vote of thanks to each one & to the Management Committee of Chitrakoot CGHS in particular, having graciously allowed to hold the function in their Community Hall.<\/p>\n
