AIFF XI Head Coach Goutam Ghosh said his Team was \u201clooking forward\u201d to the match against Frenz United, Indonesia in the Asia Champions Trophy 2014 which is slated to be held at the Barasat Stadium on Saturday (May 24). The kick-off is at 6.35pm and the match would be telecast live on DD Sports.<\/p>\n\n\n\n\n

\n\u201cThis is a much-awaited match for the boys. It\u2019s a Home-match for them and they are very excited,\u201d he said. At the same time, Ghosh\u2019s rival counterpart, Enchang Ibrahim, Head Coach of Frenz United, Indonesia said they are aiming to \u201ccollect full points\u201d from the encounter. \u201cWe understand India are a very good side but that won\u2019t deter us from going all out to collect full points,\u201d he quipped. \u201cWe lost our first match against PVF Vietnam and want to win in Barasat,\u201d he added.<\/p>\n

Both the Coaches were speaking at the pre-Match Official Press Conference at the Stadium. \u201cWe are not used to playing on artificial turfs,\u201d Enchang informed. \u201cHence, we need to settle down fast,\u201d he quipped. \u201cI hope my Players will play to their potential on the morrow,\u201d he pronounced. Referring to AIFF XI\u2019s first-match loss against Frenz United, Malaysia, A, Ghosh maintained that \u201cwins are losses are very much part of the sport.\u201d<\/p>\n

\u201cWe did lose but returned back being richer in experience. We committed some mistakes in our first match and intend not to repeat them again,\u201d he pronounced. \u201cWe have had some sessions on the turf at Barasat. The boys are acclimatizing. It\u2019s an important match as far as the Tournament is concerned,\u201d he said. \u201cIt\u2019s not relevant to speak about our game plan at the moment. For that, one will have to wait for the kick-off.\u201d<\/p>\n

AIFF XI is being represented by the U-16 National team of the Country. Striker Krishna Pandit echoed that duty of the Team is to \u201cfollow the instructions\u201d of the Coach. \u201cFrenz United, Indonesia are a strong opposition. We need to back each other up and execute the instructions,\u201d Krishna who was a member of India\u2019s triumph in the SAFF U-16 Championship stated.<\/p>\n

Indonesian Captain Dody Al Fayed, lauded the \u201cteam spirit\u201d of his Team. \u201cThe spirit of our Team drives us forward. We always stick together and that\u2019s our biggest strength,\u201d he maintained. \u201cIt\u2019s a bit too hot in Kolkata,\u201d Ibrahim smiled. \u201cThe weather back in our Country, I would say, is more pleasant,\u201d he quipped.
