\nAbout 2500 global Road safety experts, professionals, companies and Government organisations, active in road transport and mobility sectors from various parts of the world will take part in the Four day 18th World Road Meeting (WRM) titled CROSSROADS-WRM 2017 being held in New Delhi- India for the first time from November . 14 to 17, 2017. <\/p>\n

Union Minister for Road Transport Highways Nitin Gadkari will inaugurate the four day global road meet being organised by Geneva based International Road Federation (IRF) working for better and safer roads world wide. The theme of the WRM2017 is \u2018Safer Roads \u2013Smart Mobility, The engines of growth.\u2019<\/p>\n

The other dignitaries who will be taking part in the WRM 2017 will include Union Minister of State for Road Transport and Highways (MoRTH) Mansukh L Mandaviya, Amitabh Kant, CEO, NITI Aayog, Anne Berer, Minister of Transport, Finland, Marc Garneau, Minister of Transport, Canada, Mr. Maxim Sokolov \u2013 Minister of Transport of the Russian Federation, , Jean Todt , President, FIA (Federation International Automobile) , Geneva, Switzerland who is also UN Secretary General\u2019s special envoy for road safety and spiritual Guru Sri Sri Ravi Shankar ji.<\/p>\n\n\n\n\n

\u201cThe Ministry of Road Transport and Highways, (MoRTH) Government of India has extended it\u2019s support to WRM \u2013 2017. The Ministry stands committed to achieve 50 per cent reduction of road deaths in the country by 2020 as it is a signatory to the UN decade of action for road safety. Pursuant to the invitation extended by the Hon. Minister of Road Transport to the Transport Ministers of various countries at the Mid-Term Review Conference held in November 2015 at Brazil, the Ministry of Road Transport and Highways proposes to hold a concurrent global transport Ministerial Conclave on \u201cEradicating Road Deaths by 2040\u201c on November 13, 2017 in New Delhi, a day prior to WRM 2017. Transport Ministers from various countries are expected to attend the meet\u201d said Mr Prashant Kapila. The WRM 2017 Conference director.<\/p>\n

\u201cThe deliberations at the Conference will focus on finding sustainable solutions for managing increased vehicular traffic, pollution and safety related issues, together with safe road mobility through Plenary Sessions with high level key note address, 44 technical sessions, a number of parallel and side sessions to deliberate on a host of topics structured under 10 themes. A Special Session to Fast Track Road Safety by Corporates on the 16th November 2017, spearheaded by the Presidents of the Chambers of Commerce and Industry in India. A special plenary Session on 17th November 2017 include a Chief Ministers\u2019 Forum on the17th November 2017\u201d said Mr Kapila.<\/p>\n
