\nYou are City’s Life Line<\/div>\n
\nYou take us on board<\/div>\n
\nAnd save us from madness on road<\/div>\n
\nCool air inside<\/div>\n
\nSave us from unbearable heat outside<\/div>\n
\nYour long glass windows<\/div>\n
\nShow beautiful outside view<\/div>\n
\nOn every stop there are many<\/div>\n
\nWaiting to get in not a few<\/div>\n
\nYour doors slide open for crowd to surge in<\/div>\n
\nIn the beginning there is all around din<\/div>\n
\nSome scramble for a seat<\/div>\n
\nSome succeed to beat<\/div>\n
\nThose who find one get instant solace<\/div>\n
\nThen in silence they read each other’s face<\/div>\n
\nYoung boys and girls choose to stand<\/div>\n
\nMusic plugged in their ears<\/div>\n
\nSome get too close to each other<\/div>\n
\nUnaware of who is near<\/div>\n
\nYou take all without count<\/div>\n
\nWithout distinction of caste or creed<\/div>\n
\nYou are impartial in your deed<\/div>\n
\nA melodious voice announces next destination<\/div>\n
\nMany frequently look at their watch<\/div>\n
\nAnd anxiously wait for their destination<\/div>\n
\nTo give us relief from the traffic woes<\/div>\n
\nYou are always on your toes<\/div>\n
\nWith twists and turns<\/div>\n
\nYou cross the city’s length and breadth<\/div>\n
\nLike a giant python hurrying its way<\/div>\n
\nGoing long distances for you<\/div>\n
\nSeems a child’s play<\/div>\n
\nYou are sleek and smart<\/div>\n
\nHaving a special place for women<\/div>\n
\nAnd Senior Citizens in your heart<\/div>\n
\nYoung and old all love your ride<\/div>\n
\nYou are our Nation’s Pride<\/div>\n
