About the Festival<\/b>
\nIn continuation to the Ibaadat Festival series started in 2012, and the Qawwali seminar titled, \u201cUnderstanding Qawali\u201d held on 2nd March, 2013 at IIC New Delhi, Sufi Kathak Foundation (SKF) is proud to present Ras Rang, a festival of Qawwali music. Keeping to the objectives of the Foundation, SKF plans to continue this initiative for the years to come, to preserve, promote and archive this age old tradition of Qawwali and gives a platform to traditional Qawwals from various small towns in India, an opportunity to perform in front of a large audience in Delhi. Last year the festival brought together Qawwals from Ajmer Sharif and Badayun.
\nThis year festival will feature traditional Qawwals from Lucknow and Qawwals from Rampur.<\/p>\n

About the Artists<\/b><\/p>\n

Qawwal Janaab Mohammad Ahmad Khan Khan Warsi and Group from Rampur<\/b>
\nBelonging to the lineage of Rampur State\u2019s Darbar Musician, Janaab Md. Khan was taught Qawwali from his fatherAbdul Shakur Khan. He has been performing Qawwali since his childhood and has been fortunate to play for former PM of India, Late Ms. Indira Gandhi and former President of India Dr. Shankar Dayal Sharma. He has also been featured on the All India performed across India and in several other countries to represent India\u2019s culture and heritage<\/p>\n

Qawwal Janaab Haider Baksh and Group from Lucknow<\/b>
\nJannab Haider Baksh belongs to the Lucknow Gharana of Qawwali and was taught by his father Lt. Modammad Hadif. He is associated with the Deva Sharif shrine in Barabanki near Lucknow. Haider Baksh is associated with this form of music since the past 50-55 years and has played in many international lands such as Malaysia, Afghanistan and Burma.<\/p>\n
