Your parents hand over your upbringing and education to teachers, to coach you in academics and extracurricular activities and mould you into good human beings and responsible citizens. You are encouraged to participate in activities like sports, arts, music and dance. You imbibe values of discipline, honesty, punctuality, service before self and camaraderie. These develop your personality, fitting you in this modern society, while preserving our Indian culture.

You students do trouble your teachers, but they realize that you are still growing and are bound to make mistakes; so they go out of their way to direct you on to the right path.

On Teachers’ Day, you dress up to represent teachers and take lectures assigned to the teachers you symbolize. You perform the usual activities that are performed by teachers. You realize what it means to be a teacher and control the future of several students.

In ancient Indian scriptures too, the Guru is venerated and loved and the Guru’s position is second only to parents.
