Institute of Road Traffic Education (IRTE) , College of Traffic Management has started offering Asia’s first Two year Post Graduation (PG) degree Master of Science (M.SC.) course in Traffic Management to equip students with skills to manage and design the traffic and transportation management systems . This is the second batch for admissions .
Based upon the 30 years of rich experience in research conducted at the Institute of Road Traffic Education (IRTE), the IRTE’s The College of Traffic Management which is now training all Indian Police Service (IPS) Probationers in Traffic Management, highway engineers, transport officers, driver trainers, accident investigators, has opened its gate to candidates from all across South East Asia. The seats are limited to 30 this year. Admissions are based upon eligibility as mentioned separately.
The Two year Post Graduate Course will deal with Transport & Traffic Engineering, Driver Training and Fleet Management, Road Safety Audits, Road Crash Investigations, Traffic Engineering, Forensic Engineering, , Road Asset financing and Post-Crash Management.
“All over the world including India, issues such as traffic congestion, safety, urban liveability, environmental impacts and the effectiveness of transport operations are everyday concerns. With transport and traffic systems under pressure to deliver better economic, social and environmental outcomes for the community there is a growing demand for professionals who are prepared to address these challenges.” Said Dr Rohit Baluja, President , Institute of Road Traffic Education (IRTE) .
“IRTE has taken the first major step in the domain of ‘Manpower capacity building’ in the Traffic and transportation management sector . The first global Masters of Science in Traffic Management has been given approval by the Government of Haryana and Maharshi Dayanand University to be conducted at IRTE’s College of Traffic Management from August 2019. Maximum of 30 seats are being offered to include in -service participants and students from South East Asia. “ said Dr Baluja.
“The Master of Traffic Management degree program will provide a pathway to new career opportunities in the private and public sector in areas including transport planning and policy, transport operations, public transport, traffic engineering and management. Graduates from the program typically will be able to work as senior professionals in local, state and federal government agencies such as road and transport authorities, public and private sector transport operators and local and international consulting organisations.” Said Dr Baluja.
The aim of unveiling this course is to translate or promote such M.Sc. in other institutes across South East Asia as a part of the MOU between IRTE & United Nations Economic Commission for Europe .
“IRTE college of Traffic Management has also initiated Two year post graduate M.Sc degree course in Forensic Science, with a view to impart quality Forensic Education that will cater to not only vehicle crash investigation but also to crime at large and over a period evolve as an integrated entity encompassing scientific, technological and legal services. This degree is also affiliated to Maharshi Dayanand University (MDU), Rohtak, Haryana.
It is open to all graduates. Last date for application is December 10 , 2020
