National Law University Delhi in partnership with Lewis and Clark Law School, Portland, Oregon, USA is organizing an international conference titled, “Realizing the goal of water for life: Lessons from around the world” at the National Law University Delhi campus on the 30th and 31st of May, 2013. The conference is an attempt at bringing together renowned academicians and researchers from countries like USA, Brazil, UK, South Africa and India to discuss pertinent issues related to transboundary water conflicts and access to clean water. There are academicians from institutions like Harvard Law School, Oregon State University, University of Idaho and Lewis & Clark Law School in USA, University of Kwazulu-Natal in South Africa, University of London and Mackenzie University, Brazil besides lawyers and activists specializing in the area of Water Law who would be speaking at the two-day conference. Mr. Nawneet Vibhaw, Assistant Professor of Law at National Law University Delhi and an alumnus of Lewis & Clark Law School, USA mentioned that The United Nations General Assembly has proclaimed the period 2005-2015 as the International Decade for Action ‘Water for Life’. Therefore it becomes all the more important for nations to discuss and deliberate over the water-related challenges that we are all facing so that we come up with solutions which would help us solve the impending water crisis.
