JM International School conducted a 7 day training program on “Puppetry as a Teaching Method” on 27.June.2015. In a generation of multimedia and high-tech gadgets for teaching and learning, a traditional method of creating a fun atmosphere for learning was advocated in the program that is teaching through Puppetry. Instructor led the workshop with his artistic techniques on recreating various characters through puppetry. The participants had hands-on training on how to create their own puppets which can be used for teaching in their respective areas.
The main aim of the workshop was to introduce puppetry as an aid to education. Also, this workshop aimed at the production of simple puppets out of easily available and waste materials to convey educational concepts. Different kind of puppetry making like Bunraku puppets, Glove puppets and Shadow puppets made the workshop interesting and impactful. The participants were given a chance to explore the many dimensions of puppetry.
