Shri Kuldeep Singh Dhatwalia, Director General, Indian Institute of Mass Communication and Principal DG (Training) of the Ministry of Information and Broadcasting inaugurated the month-long Training Course in Book Publishing being organized by National Book Trust at its Conference Room in Vasant Kunj today. 40 participants from across the country aspiring to make a career in Book Publishing are participating in this Course.
Shri Dhatwalia lauded efforts of NBT in training younger people to take up publishing as a career as also promotion of book culture. He hoped to have collaborations with NBT in training in the field of book publications as Ministry of Information and Broadcasting too has various organisations like DAVP and Publications Division engaged in printing and publishing reading materials.
In his presidential address, Prof. Govind Prasad Sharma, Chairman, National Book Trust said that pre-printing process need minute attention of the publishing professionals as much as while books are actually being printed . He added that such publishing courses help publishing professional acquire knowledge on various aspects of Book Publishing.
At the outset Shri Manas Ranjan Mahapatra, Course Director informed that NBT is celebrating Silver Jubilee of this publishing course and it has a plan to hold such training programmes this year at Allahabad, Aurangabad, Bhubaneswar, Guwahati and a few more places.
At the end, Mrs Neera Jain, Director, NBT proposed vote of thanks and informed the participants that professionals from the field of Book Publishing are scheduled to interact with participants in this Course on various days.
