Born on 23 June, 1971 in New Delhi. He belongs to a middle class Sikh family. His father Jatthedar Trilochan Singh has been the role model for him. He has just completed the half century of his age and celebrating silver jubilee years of Social work. Yes, he is none other than Paramjit Singh Pamma who is popularly known as PAMMA. You can find him protesting aggressively on many occasions for the humanity. He got the title of Angry Man and that is just because of raising voice against Price rise, corruption, ceasefire violation by Pakistan, problems in school admissions, ban on turbans by foreign governments, ‘mistreatment’ of the Indian cricket team overseas, reservation for women in Parliament etc.
For his own social initiative and his inspiring personality a song perfectly dedicated to him and the lyrics of that song is “East or West Pamma is the Best” Written by famous Lyricist Balvinder Singh Sodhi and sang by Well known Singer Sukhvinder Sarang and another renowned Punjabi Singer Ashoo Punjabi also sang a beautiful song “Pamma Ko Salaam” on him. He is really very popular social activist and always covered by main stream Indian Media. Interestingly, one documentary on his life journey was also telecasted on a prominent Indian TV News Channel some years back.
During this period he has been knocking the Delhi Govt. and Central Govt. to impart Free education to every citizen, make Admission provision in college for every student, stop Misuse of Social Media for the sake of the youth. By profession, he is a trader who deals exclusively in zips. He has a tiny shop down the narrowest possible lane in Sadar Bazaar. He is also the President of his market association. He is die-hard fan of all the brave Indian freedom fighters. Due to his sincerity and dedication towards social work, he has been offered to join Indian National Congress Party & Bhartiya Janta Party even AAP party officials approached him to join the politics. But straight forward refuse to join any political party.
Recalling his olden days, Pamma revealed that he participated in his first protest with his father at the tender age of 16 way back in 1995. When he lost his father the same year he decided to take his father legacy, In 1996, he founded National Akali Dal, a non-political organization with the sole purpose of organizing protests against wrong doing. During his active social life he met many prominent Indian leaders like former President Pranab Mukherjee, former prime minister Manmohan Singh and former Delhi chief minister Sheila Dikshit who also appreciated his efforts for the people.
Talking about his title name angry person, he discloses that “My anger is not directed at people; it is directed at the system, at the government and at issues.” He further adds that “My height may be five feet but my vision is so big and visionary. Yes, Pamma is absolutely right because most of the time short height person created history. He is on the same path and creating history not for him but for entire deprived world.
