Delhi police have made special provisions for providing training to girls in schools in order to combat violence against them. A Self Defence Training programme was conducted at Basava International School for the girl students not only to ensure their security but at the same time to boost their morale to grow up as equals in the society. It was a week long training session which was designed to make women more aware, prepared, and ready for any situation that may occur in their everyday life. The aim was to cultivate a high degree of confidence, self worth and self respect amongst the girl students. The training programme was a tremendous success with as the girls felt encouraged by the endeavor of the programme to enable them fight with the evil of eve-teasing and sexual harassment.
