Durga Puja by Dwarka’sDeepanwita Cultural Association puts the sub city in a festive mood


Durgotsav 2012 is being organized by Deepanwita Cultural Association of Dwarka during 20th October 2012 to 24th October 2012 in a big way at Sector 22. Within a short span of 6 years it has emerged as one of the biggest and most popular Durgotsav in Dwarka sub city in Delhi. The Durgotsav at Dwarka has won the hearts of Dwarkaites for its uniqueness and sense of community. The glorious deity of Goddess Durga this time will be adorned with “Sholar Shaaj” . Each year for the last six years Dwarkaites are mesmerized by the brilliant pandal, lighting, the cultural programs bonanza,which together help to showcase the socio-cultural platform that Deepanwita organizers intend to create for the people from all walks of life.

Topping it all, the Durgotsav has become synonymous with the delicious community lunch(bhog) that is served with great enthusiasm on the three main days (Saptami, Ashtami and Navami) of the Puja to thousands of visitors.

Besides the high quality cultural entertainment in the evenings, the association has planned competitions in the morning like drawing, recitation, dance and singing besides various games for all age groups with exciting prizes to be won.

The spirit of community will also be amply on display during the “DhunuchiNaach” competition, an integral component of any Durgotsav celebration that brings about every year the enthusiastic participation of large cross section of visitors to the Puja premises.
