Every year 26 July is celebrated as the Kargil Vijay Diwas in honor of the war heroes of the 1999 Kargil war. To commemorate the historical victory of the Indian Armed Forces during the 1999 Kargil War, the students of J M International School celebrated the occasion of Kargil Vijay Diwas with solemnity and pride along with the teachers and the school principal, Ms. Anuradha Govind. The occasion was graced by Capt. Sanjay Tanwar, the prestigious Shaurya Chakra recipient and Mr. Rishi Kumar, An author illustrator and artist who has written and illustrated a series of comic books on war heroes and who also has his name mentioned in the Limca Book of Records. They shared the fearless actions of the brave Indian soldiers and paid tribute to the spirit of Indian soldiers to conquer insurmountable odds time and again and the auditorium resounded with the spirit of patriotism and reverence with inspiring stories of sacrifices our soldiers made which inspired and enlightened our young minds.
Everyone maintained a two minutes of silence as a mark of respect to all the martyrs. The students who already are a part of Mission Parakrama in association with Fever 104 FM read out some heartwarming and soul stirring letters addressed to the martyr, Late Ranjit Kumar, CRPF soldier who laid down his life for the motherland in the Chattisgarh Maoists attack this year. Students also designed display boards and posters on “Kargil War” which were displayed all over the school to express gratitude and indebtedness along with word of solidarity sent across the community through a message on Kargil Vijay Diwas to the parents.
