MBA students of United Institute of Management , Greater Noida today went for industrial visit at Mother Dairy Manufacturing Plant in Patparganj , New Delhi which is a wholly owned subsidiary of National Dairy Development Board (NDDB) of India today.
The Factory Operations Manager gave a presentation related to the history of Mother Dairy Plant. He told students about the white revolution and primitive and newer modes of milk collection and distribution. He also told about the actual milk processing capacity of the plant with the significance of the steps in processing.
Further, a small documentary film of Mother Dairy Plant was shown, which depicted the process of milk production. Students also interacted with the staff of the Mother Dairy Plant and were shown videos and presentation of the drink. The process in the making is totally automated and is internationally designed keeping in mind the hygiene standards. Students enjoyed their bus ride and asked numerous questions.
“The students were informed about several steps from the incoming of raw milk from the rural villagers, around 23 testing methods used to identify milk adulteration, then purifying it, adding fat, minerals, vitamins, SNF, etc. to the newly manufactured milk were shown in detail. The plant is based in a land of approx. 39 acres. This plant purely observes the manufacturing of milk and ice cream. It was an informative, interesting and successful visit that was cherished by the students.”said Ms Mona Gulati Puri, Chief Operating Officer of the United Group of Institutions .
