Mélange of Indo-French Cultures – NK Bagrodia Public School

NK Bagrodia Public School has been relentlessly walking on the path of providing a global platform to its young brigade in varied ways. One such endeavour has been in the form of an exchange Programme with College Emile Durkheim , France . Under this programme 15 students and 2 teachers from the school had visited France during April- May 2018 . In response to that a group of 15 students and 3 teachers of the French school visited India on 29th September 2018 for a twelve-day trip . They were accommodated in Indian families in order to get acquainted with Indian culture and cuisine .

The school greeted the group wholeheartedly by following its remarkable culture of ‘Atithi Devo Bhav’ . They were introduced to the bagrodians and welcomed by conducting a special assembly . The director of the NKBPS group of schools, Mr. Bhattacharya, the school Principal, Dr. (Mrs.) Rajee N Kumar and the Vice Principal, Ms. Anjali Kharbanda extended their welcome to the young students and the teachers. A cultural programme was organised to embellish the day with hues of music and vibrant Sambalpuri Indian dance performance . A mellifluous rendition of song was showcased by the students. Through a Power Point Presentation the students of the school shared their experiences of France trip. The French group was also given an opportunity to get acquainted with Vedic Maths.
The French delegates took a glimpse of the Indo -French corner especially designed by the students of class IX and X. The main objective was to highlight the influence of Indo- French culture in the world. Students exhibited various tables to showcase various topics such as the political symbols used during the French Revolution, the affected areas during the French Revolution like Bordeaux, Nantes, Bastille etc. The students also displayed the India regions influenced by the French in the past and the major French speaking countries of the world. The significant highlights were the portrayal of the legendary French author Victor Hugo along with his character Jean Valigien and a self -composed poem in English highlighting the French Revolution. The students of class VIII welcomed the delegates in French and tied friendship bands with a unique design of the two countries’ flags.

A special yoga session was organised for them . They were taken to a ride in Delhi and had visited many renowned places like National Museum , India Gate , Connaught Place, Humayun Tomb , Delhi Haat, Lotus temple Qutub Minar and Akshardham Temple.
A one –day trip to Agra was an indelible moment for them . The mesmerising unparalleled beauty of Taj Mahal left them spellbound and they thoroughly enjoyed the trip.

The French students attended classes in the school for different subjects like Science , Maths , dance and art . They were also shown the art exhibition showcasing the creative artefacts made by the students. The group showed an immense enthusiasm in art and craft activities and prepared a few paintings . They were also shown the Science experiments performed by the students of class VIII. The group participated in friendly sports activities like Cricket and basketball matches. They also visited N K Bagrodia Global School and NK Bagrodia Junior School and got thrilled to meet the students and teachers.

The French group expressed its gratitude and adulation for the school and the host families for showing an extraordinary hospitality .It returned to France on 11th October 2018 with an unforgettable memory to be always cherished.
