National Highway Authority of India (NHA) has chalked out a pilot project to end everyday traffic snarls on the Delhi-Gurgaon National highway with use of latest digital technologies including use of Intelligent Traffic Management system (ITMS) , Surveillance Camera’s and other digital devices.
“The pilot project of decongesting traffic flow on Delhi -Gurgaon highway will soon be initiated and following its success will be implemented in other parts of the country. To decongest traffic on this stretch of National Highway 8 latest traffic management will be adopted including automatic vehicle ,stop line violation detection and sensors that gauge traffic and communicate with stop lights “ said Mr Raghav Chandra, while speaking at Infrastructure Conclave organised by PHD Chamber of Commerce and industry in New Delhi today .
“A lot of pending arbitration claims with the government bodies are one of the key factors behind the growing debt of infrastructure companies. An estimated amount of more than Rs. 70,000 crore is tied up in arbitration and over 85% claims raised are still pending. But the industry hopes with new arbitration norms , the construction industry will make a come back. The government should also have a relook at the corruption Act 1988 as it is a major hindrance for government officials to take fast decisions” said Mr K K Kapila, Chairman, Intercontinental Technologies and co Chairman FICCI Infrastructure committee while speaking on the occasion .
