Nischintam Dance & Music Academy celebrated its third annual day with marvelous live dancing & singing performance of more than 200 students. Nischintam is a well established Academy for Indian Classical dance Bharatanatyam & Carnatic Vocal. Bharatanatyam is a classical Indian dance form that originated in the temples of Tamil Nadu. Bharatanatyam is known for its grace, purity, tenderness, and sculpturesque poses. Lord Shiva is considered the God of this dance form. Today, Bharatanatyam is one of the most popular and widely performed dance styles and is practiced by male and female dancers all over the world.
The annual programme started with the traditional lighting of the lamp by the Guests, Shri. Ajay Gupta, Smt. Meena Venki, Smt. Pooja Dutt, Shri S. S. Dogra, Shri Sanjay Mishra, Shri Debajan Ghosh and Sh. Saurab Jha, along with Shri Harmeet Singh Kalra -Director Nishchnitam and Mrs. Mythili Attavar, Coordinator Nishchintam. Acharya Tripti Kalra is the founder director of Nischintam Dance & Music Academy. Acharya Tripti Kalra is the senior disciple of Guru Smt. Kanaka Sudhakar,
“Dancing is Dreaming with your feet and Speaking with your Eyes.” Acharya Tripti, born and brought up in a North Indian Family, worships Indian Classical Dance. Endowed with an innate love for the art form, Tripti was driven towards Bharatanatyam in her twenties under the guidance of Guru Smt. Kanaka Sudhakar. Tripti is an extremely dedicated person, gifted with an expressive face, fluid Anga movements and a sense of creativity. Acharya Tripti Kalra has completed her Visharad Poorna (Degree) in Bharatanatyam from Akhil Bhartiya Gandharva Mahavidyalaya, Mumbai, and Masters from Indira Kala Sangeet Vishwavidhyalay, Khairagarh and has been the recipient of several awards. She has performed in Commonwealth Games 2010, World Culture Festival by Art of Living Foundation, International Vintage Car Rallies, Natyanjali Festival 2011 in Chidambaram, Pandanullar and Thiruvurur and Delhi International Arts Festival at India Habitat Centre apart from giving several performances in Madurai, Jaipur, and Delhi. Acharya Tripti has been invited as Judge in prestigious classical dance and music competitions. Her aim is to spread Bharatanatyam and propagate this art form to more and more people all over the world.
Nischintam Dance & Music Academy is run by S.U.G.E.A.R – Society for Upliftment of Girl Empowerment, Indian Art & Culture. Nishchintam has been training more than 90 children in the traditional, classical art form Bharatanatyam. We are indeed proud to celebrate the Third Annual Day of Nischintam today. Nishchintam is affiliated to Akhil Bhartiya Gandharva Mahavidyalaya, Mumbai and is an examination centre up to Praveshika Poorna. More than 40 students appear for their annual examinations conducted by Akhil Bharatiya Gandharva Mahavidhyalay Mumbai.
There is a long list of guests who graced this annual function organized by Nischintam Dance & Music Academy. Shri Ajay Gupta Programme Executive, NCZCC Ministry of Culture & Smt. Meena Venki were the special guests on this annual function. Shri Ajay Gupta is a lover of the Indian art and heritage, and is doing everything possible to nurture and propagate the traditional and ancient arts of India. Smt. Meena Venki has served the corporate sector for 20 years in H.R. domain. On her retirement, she has dedicated herself for promoting talents in all cultural fields. Smt. Meena Venki is associated with many organizations and coordinate events both in Delhi and outside capital, and is particularly known for her wonderful and insightful compering. She is a freelancer, a poet, a good orator and gifted with many many skills – a versatile personality indeed. We are very glad to have her here for this programme.
Mrs. Pooja Dutt is a graduate from Prayag Sangeet in Indian Classical Kathak Dance and also Kheragarh University of Music & Dance. She also holds a degree from Prayag Sangeet in Indian Classical Music (Vocal).Mrs. Dutt was also the main guest of the event. A disciple of Padmavibhushan Pt. Birju Maharaj, She is trained in both Jaipur & Lucknow Gharana in Kathak dance. She is running an NGO for underprivileged children for singing & dancing and also an institute of Music & Dance.
On this auspicious occasion, Media personality S S Dogra was also present & graced the occasion. Mr. Dogra is Mg. Editor of Dwarka Parichay Media Group. He possesses keen interest in Writing, his favourite themes being Sports, Education, Tourism, Current Affairs, Celebrities, etc. He has been associated with several media organizations. Sh. Sanjay Mishra-IT Head of Dwarka Parichay Media Group. He has been instrumental in creating Nischintam Website. Sh. Debanjan Ghosh was also graced the occasion. Mr.Ghosh is Masters in Music from Rabindra Bharti University Kolkata. He is professional artist performed all over India as accompany and Tabla solo. He is associated with Ministry of Culture, Govt. Of India. Sh. Saurabh Jha From Northern Group Consultancy who are into civil & interior works. They are also associated with CPWD/PWD and other Govt. Agencies.
The third Annual Day was dedicated to the Guru Smt. Kanaka Sudhakar who is Guru of Mrs. Tripti Kalra,.Guru Smt. Kanaka Sudhakar is Founder-President of S.U.N.A.INA, Society for Upliftment of National Arts of India, an NGO striving on woman’s empowerment through the Arts and propagation of education to the masses. She is also Director, Nrityabharati, cultural wing of S.U.N.A.INA, an academy for Bharatanatyam and classical music, and has trained hundreds of students in this art form. Mrs. Kanaka Sudhakar is also running Budding Blossoms, the educational wing of S.U.N.A.INA, imparting good education to children from economically weaker sections of Society. She has also conducted research on therapeutic benefits of Indian classical dances on the mind, body and soul of a learner.
Mrs. Kanaka Sudhakar has been conferred with several awards, prominent among them being Swami Vivekananda National Award in 2011 and Bharat Excellence Award in 2012. She has been felicitated by Shri P. Chidambaram, and also awarded Excellent Teachers’ Award by Lions Club. Having secured a Fellowship from Ministry of Culture, Mrs. Kanaka Sudhakar has also been honoured with Nritya Jyoti, Nritya Vaibhavi, Nritya Bhushan Lifetime Achievement Award, and many many more. She has performed in all major festivals in India and abroad, and is the Guru of Mrs. TRIPTI KALRA. As already stated earlier, this day is dedicated to the Guru, who is not present with us, as she is away in Canada. The Guru has sent her blessings and best wishes for success of this function.
The Mool Mantra from Path Jaap Ji Sahib Shri Guru Granth Sahib – Ek Omkar Satnam sang beautifully by the vocal disciples of Academy– Nandini, Arnav, Nishchint, Niharika, Pravallika, Sai Harshita, Kirti, Srishti, Rishita, Mihika, The performance with Garuda Gamana – गरुडगमन तव चरणकमलमिह . Maha vishnu composed by Jagadguru Bharathi Theertha swamiji of Sringeri. This mantra is most powerful as Maha Vishnu will ward off all difficulties. Garuda Gaman was performed by the youngest disciples – Nishchint, Nivedita, Meera, Aanya, Yana, Aishwarya, Srisha, Vidushi who are only six years old.
The Mahaganapatim, a prayer to Lord Ganesha, the Remover of All Obstacles- in raagam Nattai & Taalam Aadi presented by young students – Bhavana, Hasini, Dhriti, Binisha, Mishti, Anushka, Hitashree,
Angikam – the advance stages of Bharatnatyam. Angikam performed by – Srishti, Jagriti, Dishita, Preksha, Ashwati, Shreya, Sanvi, Arsheen, Vanshika, Dhriti S.R., Mahika, Naisha, Jahnvi, Vachi, Kritika, Rishima. Alarippu is first item of Bharatanatyam Maargam, and is performed to show reverence to God, the Guru and the audience. The term Alarippu means blossoming of a flower. It is a pure Nritta form of dance and is the simplest and shortest item in a Bharatanatyam recital. The Alarippu in Tisra Jhaati performed by Niyati, Allenkriti, Sahana, Sai harsita, Vatsala, Sumiron, Anushka Bhardwaj, Niharika, Pravallika.
Shiv Tandav Strotam is written by Ravana, who was a scholar in Navavykarana the 9 types of Sanskrit Grammar. Shiv Tandava Stotram is one of his many works. This stotram describes how Lord Shiv’s hair moves, how the water of river Ganga splashes when he performs a Tandav Dance, how his drum sounds as he dances, how his ornaments move along with him and more. Shiv Tandava Strotam performed by the Senior Deciples – Arunima Raj, Nehal Parashar, A. Mahathi Poornima, Ishita, Dia, Subhra, Prisha, Amrutha, Josphin Mery, Komal, Kopal.
In this event, following teachers were felicitated by Smt. Meena Venki- Acharya Jeyenti Ravi, Acharya Anamika Mukherjee, Acharya Sapna Attavar, Rithvika Chowdhary & Arunima Raj.
