The ten day 1st Indo-Nepal Friendship motor rally which was flagged off at Puri , Odisha on February 27 concluded at lawns of India gate in capita today.
About 24 teams and 120 participants from India and Nepal covering 3060 Km in both countries reached India gate on Sunday opening a new programme to strengthen the bilateral relationship between India & Nepal and spreading messaged of Road Safety .
The first ever Indo-Nepal Friendship Motor Rally was jointly organised by kalinga Motor Sports Club, Bhubaneswar and Nepal Automobile Sports Association (NASA) along with Union Ministry of Road Transport and Highways (MoRTH), International Road Federation (IRF) and Odisha Government. Motor sporting enthusiast from all over the country and Nepal were the team members of this Friendship rally. Retired Army General, Senior Bureaucrats, Politian, Motor Rally Veterans and many more first timers would be part of this historic event to spread the word of friendship in India and Nepal.
The Motor Rally also advocated Road Safety Campaign throughout the route. The event also promoted tremendous impetus for tourism both spiritual and adventurous to people from both countries. Union Minister of State MoRTH Pon Radhakrishnan preside over the function and Union External Affairs Minister Smt Sushma Swaraj and Petroleum Minister were the Chief Guest.Morth Secretary Vijay Chibber and IRF chairman K K Kapila and Praveen Chandra Bhanideo, An MLA from Odisha and President Kalinga Motor Sport were present on the occasion . A display of Vintage cras will be major highlight of the concluding function at India gate .
