National Open University Retired Employees Welfare Association (IGNOU-REWA) in association with Venkateshwar Hospital, Dwarka, New Delhi organised a health talk sessions on CANCER and HEART DISEASES on Saturday, the 14th September, 2019 at Hospital’s Auditorium. Dr Sanjeev Pandey, Regional Director, IGNOU was the Chief Guest. Prof Pandav Nayak and Prof B S Saraswat were the Guests of Honour.
Dr Salil Garg, HoD/Senior Consultant, Department of Cardiology addressed on the subject of “Heart Attack and Heart Failure”. Whereas Dr Jyotika Jain, HoD/Senior Consultant, Department of Radiation Oncology, addressed the gathering on “Recent Advances in Radiation Oncology”.
Besides the members of IGNOU retired employees welfare association, large number of IGNOU employees attended the sessions. Several attendees raised queries on both the sessions, which were well answered by the speakers. During the sessions, more emphasis were given on prevention from Heart Diseases and Cancer. Speakers also briefed the best treatment available for these diseases.
The arrangements were also made for free investigations of BP, RBS and Pulse Measurement. The sessions were followed by Lunch. Members appreciated the sessions and requested IGNOU-REWA to have more such sessions. President of IGNOU-REWA, Shri A. S. Chhatwal, assured to organise more such health sessions soon. Regards
