Apeejay School of Management (ASM) Dwarka, New Delhi has organized a 3rd Workshop on “Making Elders Tech-Smart” under Apeejay Community Circle on 8th March 2019 in occasion of International Women’s Day. This workshop brought together more than 35 women participants retired from different domains mostly residing in various parts of Delhi. This initiation was taken to make elders tech savvy in the world of digitalization. The workshop served as an interactive platform for learning about use of technology in Smart phone, WhatsApp and Facebook. This workshop conducted for the elderly women more than 50 years of age.
The workshop was started with opening remarks by Mr. O.P Khanduja, Executive Director, Apeejay Campus Dwarka. He welcomed the participants and expressed his views about international womens day and hoped that all the participants have a great learning experience during the Workshop.
The technical session was handled by Ms. Monika Arora and Ms. Preeti Suryawanshi, faculty ASM supported by the organizing committee members Ms. Jitender Kaur, Ms. Manpreet Kaur and students volunteers, who assisted allocated groups of women during the workshop. A cultural programme dedicated to women was organized by the students of ASM in the auditorium. The programme was attended by participants of the workshop, faculty and staff members of Apeejay Dwarka Campus. The performances included singing and dance performances by the students. The participants of the workshop also enthusiastically participated in the cultural events by singing, playing flute and dancing.
“We look forward for more such workshops in future to serve the society.” said Mr. Khanduja after the session. “The workshop was very informative & the students & faculty training us were very cooperative & patient.” Said Ms Uma Ahuja of Dwarka, a workshop participant. “What better gift can a woman get, especially on a international women’s day then getting a free of cost, so informative & impressive workshop on being technology friendly. Apeejay is doing a great Job by filling a cavity in society of making elder tech savvy.” Said Ms Indira Jain, workshop participant.
