How beautiful is youth! Each child is different and has some strength in him but in some cases, this strength is buried under layers of self doubt and hesitation. In order to unearth and chisel these inherent talents of the students, ARCADIA, an Inter-School Fest was held recently in PARAMOUNT International School.
There was a palpable excitement in the air as one could sense the euphoria among all the participating students as they portrayed their untiring quest for self identity, recognition and healthy competitive spirit by rendering their best.
Eminent personalities from the field of education like Mr.T.P.Singh,Principal Pratibha Vikas Vidyalaya and Smt.Vipula, Principal of a reputed school graced the occasion and a traditional floral welcome with mementos was accorded to them. An inspiring and befitting speech was presented by Mrs.R.L.Saroha ,the M.D. of the school. She emphasized upon the fact that the learning experiences that come from participation in drama, music, speech, athletics etc. promote lifetime values that cannot always be learned in the classroom and ARCADIA provides several such forums for children to overcome shyness and confidently take centre stage.
ARCADIA 2012 unfurled a series of innovative competitions like MASTER SPLASH,CLASSIC CHARACTERS,CRAFTSMAN ,MIND GYM ,WORD CONFUSIA etc. The hosting school emerged as the overall winner in the event but gracefully passed on the Rolling Trophy to the second runner up school. The grand finale i.e. PARAMOUNT Premier League was a blockbuster as the host school skillfully defeated its other opponent teams and bagged the winner’s trophy.
ARCADIA, which means happiness is not just an Inter School Fest .It is an inspiration that the lessons for our students don’t end with the final bell of the day.
Responsibility, respect, fairness, trustworthiness, team work and healthy competitive spirit are the lifetime values taught through such competitions and athletics .In fact ,with them, the spirit of competition thrives, fueled by honest rivalry, courteous relations and graceful acceptance of the results.
As said so well by JEROME GROOPMAN : Hope gives us the courage to confront our circumstances and the capacity to surmount them.
