First anniversary celebration of the ART ADDA


The National Gallery of Modern Art, New Delhi, Ministry of Culture, Government of India is extremely elated to announce the First anniversary celebration of the ART ADDA program on 31st August 2018, 4.30 onwards in the NGMA Auditorium. ‘ART ADDA’ is a cultural platform for art lover, artists, art connoisseurs, art enthusiasts, students and teachers etc. to meet, discuss and share ideas, knowledge as well as interact on various aspects and elements of art and other related activities in our society.

The journey of the ART ADDA began on 26th August 2017 with a group of few artist and art lovers. Gradually this platform gained popularity among the art community. These people were connected with NGMA for the entire year. This Art Adda group had open discussions on various topics suggested by this group, such as role of educators, Gallery, Bridging the gaps between Gallery, Artist & Press, Intangibility of space towards artistic approach, Printmaking and Museum & Theatre etc. These meetings were enlightening and utterly momentous. The efforts put in by the NGMA were appreciated by the art world. On the Adda’s platform, people of all ages hailing from diverse art backgrounds congregated and shared the experiences and ideas with utmost pleasure.

The First Anniversary Celebration of ART ADDA will start with an interactive discussion on Memories of Adda Days with Artists and Art lovers. A theatrical performance “Redolent Wheatfield” on the life and thoughts of Dutch painter Vincent Van Gogh by the Sansaptak Theater Group and Cultural performance Kabira by North Zone Cultural Centre will be organized. Arpana Caur, Manu Parikh, Gogi Saroj Pal, Anjolie Ela Menon, Jogen Chowdhur, Kanchan Chander, Harshvardhan, Shyam Sunder Sharma, Jiten Hazarika, Anupam Sud, Jatin Das, Raghu Rai, Arun Vadhera, latika katt, Pradeep Dasgupta, A. Ramachandran, Krishen Khana, Daroz Dipali, Paresh Maity, Naresh Kapooriya, Manish Pushkale, Gopi Gajwani, Balan Nambiar and many other leading contemporary artists will grace this event.
