Green Schools Programme conducted by
Centre for Science & Environment (CSE)
Background
The enormity of the growing Environmental challenges calling each one of us to get involved to change the way we manage our natural resources, alter our consumption patterns to be able to do more with less and innovate with current technologies so that we can improve the environment around us lead to evolution of Green Schools Programme by Centre for Science & Environment to enable us Learn – not just the idea but the practice of making change “work” as our belief to “learn by doing it” is always best “to do by learning”.
Concern for Green cause
Promoting Green in his own inimitable style leading to many first to his credit in the social life of Dwarka is up to it once again. His untiring concern for Mother Nature prompted him to acquire first hand knowledge about the Green Schools Programme conducted by Centre for Science and Environment at Delhi as the only participant in individual capacity willing to learn and do his bit.
The Green campaign
Equipped with a formal class room knowledge for conducting audit of natural resources – water, air, land, energy and waste – launched an aggressive campaign with most of the schools in Dwarka through mailers and personal meetings offering his services as Facilitator for conducting the audit.
Breakthrough
A few schools responded their concern for the cause spontaneously leading to Flag Off Ceremony for conducting Environmental Audit being organized on 13th October at Sri Venkateshwara International School, Sector 18 to be shortly followed by Queens Valley, Basava International, Vandana International and MBS International School.
