The students of JM International School celebrated the 69th Independence Day of India with great ardor on 14th August, 2015. The guests for the day were Ms. Sandhya Kaul and Ms. Ghanapriya Elangbam from the Tony Blair Faith Foundation, along with Mr. Ravi Chand Gupta.
The celebrations commenced as the revered guests released the balloons in the air, which signified freedom from subjugation, and hoisted the national flag to commemorate the occasion.
The cultural gala witnessed spectacular performances by students from grades IV to IX, as they reformed a Qawwali on Vatan ko Sambhalo Yaaron, a contemporary dance on Vande Mataram, and a musical highlighting India’s Unity in Diversity.
The students from classes III to XII were also acknowledged for their spectacular feat in the academic year 2014-15, through the award distribution ceremony. Meritorious students from classes X and XII received the Chairman Special Award, while those from classes III to XI were awarded with the Director Special Award. The all-rounder’s’ from grades III to XII were acknowledged with the Principal Special Award.
Ms. Sandhya Kaul, the honorary guest for the occasion, appreciated the award winners for their accomplishments and praised the participants for their vigor, and emphasized the importance of serving and valuing one’s country with pride.
