Pomp and ceremony were the flavours of the day at Basava Inernational School when the Students’ Council was sworn in and conferred the badges and oath of office. It was one of the most awaited events on the school calendar. The Principal, Dr. Manimala Roy welcomed the Chief Guest, Dr. Mrinal Satish and the Guest of Honour Dr. Aparna Chandra – two well known legal personalities and associate professors at National Law University of Delhi. She also welcomed the proud parents of the office bearers.
The ceremony started with a March Past by the Council members led by the Head Girl, K. Vaishnavi and Head Boy, Pradeep Singh. Each member of the Council was presented with the sash and badge of office by the Chief Guest and Guest of Honour. The Chief Guest then administered the oath of office to the students and congratulated them on being elected as Council Members. Dr. Satish and Dr. Chandra explained the importance and responsibilities of an elected representative to the newly formed Council. The Head Girl and Head Boy acknowledged the faith reposed in them by their teachers and school mates.
